I'm saying every qb that has ever been in that system has looked like world beaters an then went on to do squadoosh.
I know, I'm just trying to joke about it. If we don't laugh a bit I think we'd cry this season :-)
I wanted the Bears to draft Jimmy, but having to overpay now for the mistake of not drafting him in the past is a bad idea; just like waiting until Cutlers out the door to try and draft a qb was. Now the Bears just have to deal w/their mistake and draft a qb this year; in the first 2 rounds.

I agree, except for one thing here. While we should have done it, he is probably more valuable now having worked with the Pats and Brady than if he had come here. May be some added value there. 1st and 4th? I don;t think that makes sense for us, but honestly depending on what your 1st and 4th is as well as how bad you need a QB, I don;t think the price is unreasonable. If he really will part for that, I think someone will bite.
I think a person should always be open to learning new languages and opening their horizons.
After living in Brasil and now Peru, I already can speak Portanish, Spanglish and Chicago-English. Plus, after 22 years of marriage I can understand a little bit of Woman. I don't want to learn HHM.
giving up multiple picks, + a huge contract for 2 games in a the bellicheck system? Ya no.
I'm left wondering what the intangibles of having been developed for Belicheat by Josh McDipshit have to do with anything other he comes partially trained compared to a rookie.
Look at his scouting report Ric. He's a lot you keep telling me Cutler is not. Hell I'd think you'd be all over a guy like this if only so we could move on from Cutler.
Hell if all Fox has is one more year here then let's just keep Cutler and let the next HC draft or sign his own QB. Start Cutler, use the early picks to build up other spots and a later pick on a QB. If we don't want to saddle a new HC with yet another vet QB signed long term then why saddle him with a younger one who may not fit him.
This is another thing I keep wondering. Exactly who are we drafting this QB for, Fox or his successor?
Comparing any young QBs now to the QBs that were in the NFL back when Favre was young is a bad idea. QBs coming out of college were much different than the QBs coming out of college now. It seems very few are prepared for the NFL. I know this might help the argument for Garropolo because he would have more experience but it's in a favorable system for him. Not only do we not know how well he would do in the Bear's system he would also cost more than one draft pick and most likely require a fairy sizable long term contract.
I think I'd rather the Bear's try drafting their own QB this time.
Whose comparing him to Favre? I think he has far more of Rodgers traits then Favres. All I said is what would have happened if the Packers hadn't traded a 2nd round pick for Favre to compare the price of that trade to this not compare Favre to Jimmy G.
You know, the whole point I've made in this is being lost to all but the few who've read all of what I've posted and actually get it so I'll leave the rest of you to your own approach. Eventually we'll know what worked and what didn't.
