Sometimes I wonder since we're Bear fans. We don't understand how important QB play is.
I would say the opposite is true. We know. We probably know more than any other franchise in the NFL. We fans may disagree on where to go from here as far as our QB - and that's 100% okay (LOL, as long as we don't beat the already dead horse here). We all have our opinions and by this point we know everyone's stance regarding Fields/Williams/other QB. But one thing we are all in agreement on. We all, desperately want a great QB here - whether that is with a new guy or Fields finally taking off and being the guy... just end the pain, LOL. That we agree on.
Yep, I just want a QB here who can give us 10-15 years of success.
I'm tired of mediocre players like Fields, Trubisky, Cutler, Grossman, Orton, and etc...

We will see if the Bears have learned anything from their past failures to build an offense. Let's see if they put the resources into the offense and maximize the potential for THIS guy to develop and reach his full potential. We will know after the FA/draft if the Bears are serious about having a great offense in Chicago. Or not. I hope they land one of the top-tier wide receivers in this draft if that guy is available at #9. If not then grab our "Kelce" and get Brock Bowers at TE. And no more of these pitiful IOL guys like Lucas Patrick, an over-the-hill Whitehair. Let's give the new kid an actual "pocket" to work out of... instead of the turnstile boys. Let's do it right this time. Let's build an offense and not just "draft a kid" and call it "good enough" like in the past.

Exactly
I want a QB you don't have to make excuses for. I want a QB you KNOW is "the guy". I want a QB you don't have to squint at to convince yourself he's a good passer. I want a QB who doesn't need "the perfect team" around him to still win a lotta games.
I don't expect CW to light the league on fire as a rookie in 2024, not saying that. My hope is that by year 2 or year 3, he's clearly becoming "the guy" and its obvious enough that we don't have to debate it here. It should be obvious.
As Hoge said about JF, "if you aren't sure of the answer, then the answer is NO".

The dead horse beating will continue until Poles makes his move, then — no matter which direction it goes — the “I told you so” dead horse will take center stage.
... been saying that for over 60 years now. Thought we had him in McMahon too, but he was made of glass. The beat goes on, right?
McMahon was not a fragile guy IMO. I think in todays NFL, he could have had a long career. In those days a QB was a brutal living. They let those guys really hit the QBs. Gotta admit, fun to watch, but always worried about the QBs. McMahon was not a small thin guy. If todays QBs took the beating that they took back then, you would not see guys lasting this long.

I agree with you on that. I'm not dissing the guy. Just saying he wasn't able to suit up when we needed him. Injuries happen. You just hope it doesn't get to the point you can't count on a player (Jenkins could be the modern equivalent of that guy if he keeps being the IR king).

I can’t remember who it was, but I still recall a Packer lineman who picked up McMahon and gave him a brutal body slam like a WWE wrestler. Bears players and fans went totally ape shit over that.

Yeah, that kind of helped him towards the end of his career. You can't do that today.

Charles Martin. and it was long after the play was over.
