I agree. But they can aways spin the story 100 different ways. For example, they can just say Eberflus is the bedrock of stability and capable of steering the organization to keep making progress. 3 wins last year, 7 wins this year, playoffs next year. Hell, I could write the speech.

Flus is def a bedrock.
Hey, I’m just saying what I expect to hear from Warren. Once the decision is made to keep Eberflus, they will heap praise on him to justify their decision.
Someone explain to me how there is "continuity" by keeping Flus and making Getsy the scapegoat. I'm still waiting for an answer on how this is gonna work.
Cuz if you're gonna stick with Flus/Fields for "continuity", you're also committing to Justin's 3rd OC in 4 years. And no one seems to be able to put any names to this mysterious magic-man new OC who's going to waft down from Heaven on a winged horse and magically transform Justin Fields into the kind of QB who can take teams on successive deep runs. And also no one has yet explained how little ole Flus is gonna identify and recruit this QB-guru guy to come work for him, knowing full well that Flus is going into year #3 and will almost certainly be fired if he doesn't reach the playoffs.
I'm dying to hear how this is gonna work!
That's easy. Keeping Flus is continuity. He stays as the HC another year. I know you know that. You are saying that getting rid of Getsky means that there is selective continuity. Yeah. They do what they want and then backfill the justification to fit. That's how it works. I'd like to see Flus and Getsy both gone and Fields here another year. But that's just me.
You know what...I'd much rather see that than keeping Flus. If you get a proven HC like Harbaugh or even Vrabel and he wants, Fields...yeah sign me up.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I have zero confidence in Flus to either "fix Fields" or to recruit a new OC that can. It reminds me a ton of Lovie cycling thru OCs trying to fix Cutler.

I don't think you will get an argument from too many people on that. But I still think Flus stays. Which will make for another frustrating year, IMO

And like I've mentioned, Flus can't hire an OC currently working as an OC. Its an on the street OC, college guy or a current QB coach or passing game coordinator. But everyone seems to think there are OCs out there who have developed QBs and won games with their OFF. They insist on it. But then you start naming names and its ASmith, Reich, Dorsey, Leftwich......

It will be a another frustrating year but more importantly we will have passed on the #1 pick and a golden opportunity to reset with a new QB and HC.

And THAT is what makes it such a hard decision. Once you go with a new QB, you forgo the chance to see if a better OL and recieving options would fix Fileds issues. Well, I guess you could see it if he went to the right team. How shitty would it be to see him bloom on another team while we pick the wrong QB again or mess up another one?

I have a feeling that isn't gonna be a problem. I think JF can have success but I'd be stunned if ever was better than an average starter at this point and "average starter" is about a 50% increase in passing yards from where he is now. Not to mention he's been hurt a couple times and will likely continue to get hurt with his play style and the fact that the refs refuse to give him any RTP or late-hit flags.
I'm taking my chances on a new QB while also building the OL and WR at the same time. We have lots of resources to spend coming up here.

I guess we disagree there. Otherwise, I would also be wanting a new QB :-)

I understand.
If Poles/Warren want to go with the build-around-Fields plan, then they sure as hell better be BUILDING better than Flus & whatever yo-yo newbie he drags in here to be his next failed OC. They need to go all-in on getting a new HC like Harbaugh in here who has done it before and who has the coattails to attract the best subordinate candidates. I am pretty damn sure no hot OC or DC candidates are laying awake at night hoping they get a shot to work for Flus.
To put it simply, if you want to try to fix Fields, then bring in a new staff top-to-bottom that actually has a chance to be successful at it. Don't half-ass it by keeping Flus and say you want "continuity" cuz it isn't continuity at all -- Flus isn't calling plays or developing the QB. Lets get serious here--Flus is a DC and locker room cheerleader. He's not an offensive coach.
