The defense was pretty much fantastic and Santos is the only one who was able to score. The defense has really grown since Eberflus took over and I'm quite happy we traded for Sweat. He really is making a difference.
And as much as I enjoy Bears wins, I gotta say that after almost losing to a pathetic team that threw four picks because of Fields, he's really pissing me off. He can't protect the ball, he still can't see the field and still holds onto the ball for too long. And for some reason, Bagent was able to get the ball out much quicker and make plays despite having the same HC, same OC, same OL and same receivers. Yes, Getsy sucks as a OC, but Fields is so overrated that he's slowly becoming a first round bust.
Regardless of who ends up being the GM and HC next season, we need to trade Fields for a pick or two and draft a new guy. Fields is definitely NOT the future here.
That can't be true. We were told repeatedly in the chat during Sweats first game as a Bear that he was a bust and not worth what poles overpaid for him. Was that poster wrong or just trolling?
More passes at or behind the LOS than in front, and only 1 beyond 10 yards. A high school kid could playcall better than Getsy.
Agreed. But Eberflus is the Head Coach. He must be going along with the same old crap week after week. And Warren and Poles are over both of them.
I keep vacillating between three possibilities: (1) They are all truly this INCREDIBLY incompetent or (2) coaches are under orders to stay ultra-conservative in play calling to tank again for draft picks (Ric’s theory) or (3) Getsy simply doesn’t trust Fields to throw downfield.

Nice to see the defense showing up. The DL was dominant. Not something I expected to say ever this season.
But the offense...Fields is just killing me. I know Getsy didn't call the most creative game but Fields just keeps showing the same issues again and again. I haven't watched the all-22 but you can't tell me guys aren't open downfield on many of those plays given the amount of time he had back there. He also looked surprised by the blitz at times. I mean this is what Flores does. If he rushes 5-6 guys somebody should be open. Sure Fields can get himself out of some jams with his legs but he's often in that position because he isn't getting the ball out of his hands on schedule. Also 35 fumbles in 35 games. You just can't have that.
Ultimately the offense scored 12 points despite getting 4 INTs. Being that the blocking was generally good and the run game was adequate Fields just has to be better. And this thing I see in some quarters (not here) about how he should be applauded for his "game winning drive" is just ridiculous. Had he performed better the rest of the game he wouldn't have needed a game winning drive.
What stings me is Love. I mean, cmon, cant we ever have a better QB than Packers? Hasnt happened in my lifetime, so I was kind of hoping enough is enough. Love played in a couple more games than Justin, and im not counting rushing, but Love still has like over a 1000 passing yards more than Fields. And this is his first season. And has no DJ Moore, believe me If Justin, in his 3rd y, cannot clearly outplay Love in his first... Damn, seems we need a new QB up in here.

or (4) Flus is overwhelmed with being both the DC and the HC and has completely ignored what Getsy is doing. In any case, look at my Avatar. . . Flus and Getsy and the entire coaching staff need to go. I'm just saying Getsy should have been shown the door weeks ago.
