This is how he did after 06 fewer hits, and fewer big hits also fewer QB's being taken and that's the real issue. Lovie like Fox seemed to have decided he wanted nothing to do w/a young qb he might need to groom. Year 2011 1 Gabe Carimi 2011 2 Stephen Paea 2011 3 Chris Conte 2011 5 Nathan Enderle 2011 6 J.T. Goff is a great example of first round QBs not always being the right call.
The Goff era isn’t off to a great start for the LA Rams. Goff wasn’t great in his first three starts, although he made a few plays against the #30 passing defense New Orleans Saints in his second start it wasn't enough to overcome them for the win. He was bad once again in a 42-14 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Goff was 24 of 41 for 235 yards and two interceptions, and that line was misleading because he did very little when the game was remotely competitive. Goff once again rarely threw anything more than 10 yards downfield. He turned the ball over at bad times. He made nothing happen against a Falcons defense that is #31 in passing defense. Sitting for nine games behind Keenum didn’t seem to help much.
Picking a QB with your first pick doesn't always help. Sure you can get your Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota there but that doesn't always guarantee a quality starter. Sure it could be his lack of weapons at his WR and Gurley regressing. But his decision making and lack of awareness isn't helping.
One example:
On a fumble return for a touchdown by Beasley, Goff showed very little awareness of the rush and was sacked and stripped of the ball.
So the big question remains. Do we take a shot at a QB in the first round? I'm all for leaving the Cutler era but is any QB truly worth a top 5 pick? Mitch Trubisky seems to be the #1 QB by many entering the draft and his biggest downside is his lack of experience. Is that truly worth a first round pick?
Or do we pull a Cowboys and build our O-line up and take a QB later on? We have a good RB in Howard, good wr depth, a great interior O-line but a lack of real depth at tackle.

I still blame Bill Belicheck, And this is from a vet HoF QB, you act like a rookie should throw nothing but great passes and not make mistakes.
So a pass that was int by great defensive play is now the same as one in which he threw it to the ground with no one by the WR?
Every QB, especially young ones make bad throws. Ssshtap being a bag and over emphasizing trying to hope people will buy into a theory no one is going to ever buy into.
Not sure what this thread is suppose to be about or prove...
But i went no to the 1st rounder mainly due to not knowing what will happen between now and the moment the Bears are on the clock. The offense right now is running on auxiliary power imo lol
Plus no one knows what is going to happen to Cutler, AJ. Fox, Fang, etc...We don't know if Barkley will shine brighter once he gets some Wr's who can actually catch a ball when it's needed...etc...
As far a Goff goes, he is on a team in which the management just extended the contract of the HC only to fire him DURING that same season!!! And we think we have it bad as Bears fans lmao
