I still get sad when I see how much of an impact player Beasley is. I wanted that guy so much over White.
Tough to compare the two because Beasely wasn't an impact his rookie year, and White has been hurt so we may never know what he could be.
The other thing is that Beasely is surrounded by a lot of really good def players making his job easier. Would he be a 13 sack guy in Chicago where he might well be the primary guy being taken away?
Also do the Bears take Floyd(who I think could be better) if they have Beasley?

All good questions.
nah, I don't work for PFF so i'm not capable of having good questions or opinions. have to soley rely on PFF and their opions b/c someone is dumb enough to pay them
Halo , Call of Duty , Gears ... w/o fail every single time I've bought a new video game I always got my ass kicked for a while - always got better over time . Same goes for most QB's .
There's only 1 thing that's great from the get-go : the new gf .

Sure he didnt have the big sack numbers, but from what I've heard from Falcons fans is that he played okay ish. He was better than expected against the run which was he weakness going into the draft.

I'm not a guy who just thinks sacks mean you're making an impact. And I would think ok-ish would mean he wasn't an impact player. I don't think thats terrible either...some guys don't get it right away.
I figure it's not all black-and-white with this first pick. I really don't want the Bears to "reach" for a QB with that first pick just because we need one. Don't pick a 2nd round talent with that first pick and pass up a true top-5 talent. But of course pick a QB if the value is there. But don't just blindly reach for a guy. That's Jerry Angelo stuff.
There are multiple factors to consider here.
1. If the QB's available are simply 2nd round talent, then don't blow a top-5 draft pick on them. I understand the argument for "getting your guy" regardless of how much you have to pay for him. But I don't agree with that philosophy. I just don't.
2. If there is a guy available when we draft top-5, who is clearly special, but he is not a QB (see point #1 above) then draft that special guy - no matter what position he is. If he is truly a top-5 guy in value, pull the trigger on him. Don't go with a mediocre guy just because you have a need at QB.
3. We will draft VERY high in the 2nd round. That is no small thing. It could be one heck of an opportunity to draft a rock-solid guy there - including a solid QB. Or. If a solid QB looks to fall to the bottom of the 1st round (like Aaron Rodgers did) then we could probably trade up to the lower part of the 1st round, from that high 2nd round position. We have some sweet options here.
4. Just because one of the QB's is a glamour pick with some teams, doesn't mean it is gospel that is the guy the Bears truly have in mind as the best fit for the Bears. It could be that they see a guy who WILL be available at our #2 pick, who is actually their #1 guy for QB in this draft. The impact of a move like that is the possibility that we get BOTH our #1 favorite QB in this draft AND we also get a stud top-5 guy who truly is worth that top-5 pick. You end up with 2 fantastic players that way.
There is more going on here than just pick a QB or not pick a QB with that first pick. This is where Pace earns his money. His #1 value is stocking the cabinet with the BEST possible talent. And he's done a pretty decent job so far. He will do the right thing here. And the right thing MAY not be drafting a QB with that 1st pick.
First overall picks fail all the time. There are plenty of first round picks in general that fail. The biggest problem with the top picks is that they are usually going to absolutely terrible teams. It can be pretty hard to have a great year when the rest of your team is bad.
That statement right there is what I would specifically consider a direct indictment of the Bears' FO as an organizational failure until Pace came. We had a huge problem of systematic failure at the drafting level under Angelo and his successor.

Well Angelo after the SB when Lovie got a larger say in FA and the draft. Look at those highlighted in red that helped get the team to the playoffs/SB during that run. I know people hate Ced, but that year they went to the SB, he TJ and our AP were all absolute beasts in the run game in their own way, and AP was a key ST player. And no they weren't all superstars, but you need good backups also, and many of those guys were good at that also.
Pace and the Bears need to hit like they did in 03, 04 and 05 and hit in FA like they did in that time also to build a contender. Angelo get a bad wrap, and some of it's deserving, but it's the drafts and FA after 06 that really suck, and that had Lovie's fingerprints all over it, and you see that in how TB drafted while Lovie was there.
