Lions beat Bears - who gets the deflated ball?

And he's only played 7 games so far

We are bitching about Poles best draft pick, and generally our best pick in years, here??

My issue is less with the 63% snap rate and more with the specific times he wasn't on the field. My issue is with this quote in the article I read:

"Sweat was also off the field on several critical third-down and red-zone plays. After the game, the defensive end told reporters that he subbed himself out on a third and goal play that the Lions scored on."

He's the highest paid and best D-lineman the Bears have. You would think at in critical situations on 3rd down and red-zone plays he's on the field regardless of the rotation schedule. 

The lack of situational awareness is the same as the Fields-Scott missed connection. No way Scott should have been the 2nd option on that particular call in that situation. It should have been Mooney. (Yes I'm aware Mooney has once this season stopped on a longball too). IMO, critical downs --both OFF and DEF-- require your best players to be on the field. I don't care if the 37% of plays he was out where first and second downs, even a random third down play early in the game. But 4th quarter? He's on the field. Has to be.

Yes I'm aware that all this is hindsight complaining. If the DEF doesn't crack no one is even paying attention to this issue. If Scott catches that pass we are excited about the rookie coming through in a critical situation. But bad things happened and so they get flack.
