I'm ok w/Kelly. Mostly because I think he can be had cheap and I like the risk reward on him. Would I pick him with the #3? No friggen way.
And I also would not want to put all my eggs in his basket. He'd be a second QB pick just to be insurance and in case he turned out to be better than my "go to" QB pick.
I want a guy that can play, and the chances of finding a guy in the 4th is less likely in rds 1 and 2.
That's why Kelly would be insurance as our second QB pick
Deshaun Watson - 6 ft 3 in 215 lb We will need the combine to prove these numbers true, or to find out the true measurements, but he is also entering the draft as a true junior. Deshaun is currently 21 years old, so, in theory, has time to fill his frame.
I'm not really worried about age, how many years did they play and what kind of competition was faced.
I think he was just pointing out that at 21 he is still growing and not full size yet.
Whoever Pace thinks is worth the #3 - or if his favorite is someone that is not as highly rated publicly, maybe he risks trying to get him in the 2nd.
I like several of them, but I'm not a scout
Okay so you're idea is Wash style going w/2 qb's in this draft.
I actually would not be opposed to it. I want to put a stake through the heart of needing a QB (unfortunately picking two -- or three for that matter) does not guarantee that will happen. I am in the minority and like Kelly, but no where near enough to bank on his being the QB to pull us out of our QB issues. I wanted a high pick to go after the QB that Pace wants. I thought it was our best shot then and still think it's our best shot to fix it, so I want a QB early. But I like Kelly enough (and have enough doubts that we hit solid on our first choice) to get him on a low pick. Worst case, we lose a pick (yeah, it hurts us, but won;t kill us), middle of the road, we have a good BU or we turn into Belichick and actually have QB trade bait for once. Best case, he turns out to be the guy. I like the risk/reward with him, but think that other teams that don;t have as many needs as we do will get him in later rounds. Besides, with all our needs, I am guessing Pace won't agree with my "draft two of' em" strategy.

Maybe we can get a quantity discount if we load up on 'em.
