The thing is we know what Cutler can do. He is no Bret Favre. What would our Rookie learn from him?
And what exactly has AR learned from Favre? Certainly not throwing into double and triple coverage. ^^ In fact when you look at the numbers, Cutty and the King of INT are really not that different.

So basically AR learned from a guy that is in many aspects like Cutler and how did that turn out? I'm sure a highly talented rookie like Watson could learn a thing or two from Cutty. If the rookie is capable and the coaches are good enough, it doesn't really matter who the mentor is.
I mean, Favre expressed his love for the game every time he played and helped build/continue a winning culture within the organization. That's something he could pass down to ARod. Also, I feel like I've heard this before, Brett taught ARod to sort of jump/keep his feet moving to prevent leg injuries. I'm not 100% how to word it, or how the story goes, but Favre did pass things down. Cutler and Favre may have some similarities in theit stats, but they are far from the same player. Also, the exits of Favre and Cutler's are for much different reasons. Favre was replaced bc they had someone as good or better. We need to find someone better for Cutler bc the organization/fans is this close to done with him.

I don't know how anyone can compare the two. They are light years different from one another....
Jay Cutler would not do anything to help us. Why keep him. If we draft a QB with our 1st or 2nd and if he's ready to play you play him. Enough said.

I just don't want to see Cutler's successor getting anointed. I'd rather have them beat Cutler out - that way you at least have some comfort you are getting an upgrade. I also want to see some proper competition for the QB spot and for them to start whoever is playing best.
I've even wondered if a guy like Aaron Rodgers could have turned out more like Rex Grossman if he'd come to the Bears instead of Green Bay.

And that has also crossed my mind.
A lot of stuff crosses my mind, but being smarter than I, none of them elect to stay.

exactly. Grossman could have been better then he was if not for the inj's, but he was still short and afraid of getting hit. Rogers gets sacked a lot and it rarely bothers him.

My mind might be getting soft (so ok.... you can probably remove the might), but I actually remember him being pretty fearless in the pocket up until he broke stuff. Then he didn't like being hit so much.
