Well good luck w/that b/c one hard tackle that seperated his shoulder is few and far between.Mutliple sacks a game, let alone all hard, are rare.
When the other QB goes tic for tac w/him though, and it's all on his shoulders he seems to crack more often.
And that is part of our problem. It's hard to do it again if you don't touch him.
But again, he does take a lot of sacks in a year. Cutler like in how many he takes(even though that doesn't appear to force him into making terrible throws).

You don't think that when Cutler was getting hammered during a game it didn't force him into making terrible throws?!

I think Cutler is perfectly capable of making terrible throws sans pressure
LOL Pace gets the deflated ball because he didn't draft Dak in the fourth round. A QB who's stock dropped and every team passed on numerous times.
Dak has had a good season with the Cowboys but that does not mean he would be a good QB on any other team. I'm not actually sold on him being that good of a QB yet. I need to see him play another season after all teams have more tape on him. He also has the benefit of a great OL with a great RB. He landed in one of the greatest situations ever.
Again, not every team was in need of a qb, and some teams that did need them took them already. That's not a valid excuse.
Bears DID need a qb, and had 3 shots in the 4th round at a guy who's draft grade was 2nd or 3rd round.
Those teams that already drafted QBs still passed on Dak. They not only passed on him but gave an even bigger slap to the face by drafting QBs they thought were better than him.
You're right is saying that not all teams had a need for a higher round QB but there were still plenty of teams that needed a starter or a solid back up that passed on him numerous times. Dak falls into the Brady category more than anything else at this moment. I feel he is more of a product of being in the perfect situation than actually being that good of a QB right now. I'll need to see him perform well for multiple years before I admit that he's a really good QB.
You are right in saying the Bears screwed up by not taking a QB somewhere in the draft though. I just don't like people picking Dak as an example as if they knew he was going to be really good and would have done just as well as the Bears QB. That's not realistic.
If you've watched dallas at all you wouldn't say that. He's a hell of a qb. He's able to scramble and throw.
We should ALL wait and see, but he is, right now, a REALLY good QB. So good that the owner wants to start the other guy and still cannot do it. If he was just a product of those around him that wouldn't be the case.
difference between good and great is consistency over the years. Howard is really good right now, but we'll have to see it over several years before we can confirm it. Same w/Dak, same w/every player.

I agree with Ric here. I see a pretty good QB. Does it have to do with being in Dallas behind that line? Shit.... that's a QBs best friend, so it definitely does not hurt. Would he be as good somewhere else? I'm thinking no, but I bet he'd still be good.
BiH, sacks dont bother him either though, in those 4 losses 13 sacks, in the last 4 games 10 sacks. Unlike Cutler Rodgers doesn't appear to get rattled from sacks either. He's had 35 this year. He is regularly getting sacked close to or over 30 times a year, as high as 45-50 in a year. Lowest QBR 93.
That's the main thing with AR. He doesn't get rattled like Cutler. He's been sacked and hit a ton over the years, but he often rises above that and delivers a good game anyway.
Half the QB game is physical skills (Cutler has these), and half the game is intellectual (Cutler does not have these skills). A good QB needs to have a baseline level of both of these skills (physical & football intellect). We need a guy with both a decent arm AND a decent brain.
Both.
Somebody will now post the obligatory "it's hard to draft a QB" post. Yes. I get that. Life is tough. Drafting is tough. Drafting a QB is tough too. But if we can't draft then we are screwed. Screwed before the seasons even begin. If the Bears are ever to get back to a championship level here in Chicago, yes, they need to draft well. That's the way it is. No free lunch.
