you mock, but thats literally all he changed! You know at some point the Bears will give up a critical 4th-16 late in the 4th with a +/- 2 point differential. And it will be some play where he rushes 3, drops 8 guys into coverage and Love/Darnald/Goff will hit a wide open WR 25 yards down field who is being trailed by Noah Sewell after having 9 seconds in the pocket--and Sweat won't even have been on the field.
Reporter: Can you tell us about the playcall on the 4th down play they converted? Flus: Yeah, I'll need to watch the tape, we had a plan we thought was good, thought they rushed into that play and we didn't try to substitute. Just need to execute better. Reporter: So Sewell wasn't specific to the call? Flus: Yeah...no, we thought the play before could be a draw and wanted a run stopper on the field and with Edwards and Edmunds ...the substitution pattern wasn't optimal....just need to execute better. Reporter: In hindsight would a TO.... Flus: No, we were comfortable with the guys out there, wanted the OFF to be uncomfortable and maybe rush...I'll have to check the film but....just need to execute better.
Well, I don't do mock drafts so I have to get my mocking in somehow
The dad getting involved is not a good look for Caleb, even if they're right.
He might be the equivalent of the "Lavar Ball lite" of the NFL.
The Bears coaching staff is crapping the bed. Yes, that stinks. If Caleb's dad is frustrated with this coaching staff, hey, he's not the only one. I'm in that same group myself. Pissed.
I never said he's been impressive or that he hasn't made dumb calls. I merely stated something factual...that once Geno got Shane he vastly improved his play. The reasons for that could be many, and what percentage Shane's role in it was can be debated...but it certainly wasn't magic as MOTM would like to believe.
Today Shane stood by his Kramer handoff play and said he would do it again.
He's a fkn idiot and that's just embarrassing to hear from a professional football coach.
Poles should fire him today. But of course no one else can call plays on Flus' staff.
You'd be hard pressed to find a more incompetent duo than Flus and Waldron have shown themselves to be this week with their public statements. I'm at a loss for words to describe how inept these two are even at basic PR. These are the two clowns the organization entrusted Caleb Williams with.
Are Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels available? DUMB & DUMBER
From a leadership perspective, it is worrying. Does it make them idiots? I don't know about that. There are lots of very smart narcissists out there who will not admit to a mistake.
If you look around the league though...its very rare that a coach gets up there and admits they made a bad call. Its just not something I see done frequently. Obviously these guys are in leadership positions, but I don't know how much time or effort any of them put into developing their leadership skills...I think they spend the majority of it on football specific x's and o's stuff.
I say that because had they done any work on developing leadership skills they'd realize its ok to admit to a mistake and to own it. They'd know a simple "Yeah, listen, we liked the play when we were repping it out in practice and we liked the call on the 1 yard line, but looking back at the specific time frame in the game, maybe not the best situation to put Doug in with that kind of pressure doing a job he's not experienced in really and I could have done a better job with a different call to put guys in a better position to win there." I don't know if organizations do this or not, but I think leadership training for their coaches would really benefit everyone overall and could help lead to more winning. Just not sure if they see it as a priority or a need.

I said that jokingly but really meant he has taken a vocal approach to "help" manage his son's affairs.
Remember all the angst about what do the Bears do when Waldron is hired away and Flus has to bring in a new OC for Williams' second season?....ah...those were the days!
Yeah same was said about Getsy too. The Bears always pick the WRONG guy. Happens every time. Its practically their religion. Cue up taking Mitch over Mahomes, Flus over Harbaugh, etc., etc.
What a deflating week it has been for us fans who were just starting to believe that maybe we had finally and truly turned the corner as an organization top-to-bottom. Nope, it is still just the same clown show as it always was (with a better roster), that's all.
It would be hard to be more unimpressive than the Bears HC and OC have been the last 5 days.
Eh...I'm still not upset about not getting Harbaugh...he's taken Justin Herbert and turned him into a guy who will be lucky to surpass his stats from his season where he only played 13 games.
