Once again, I know that. Didn’t I just say Bears made the decision early? Heading into 2022 everyone here and Jenkins himself assumed he’d be the odds-on favorite for LT. Nobody expected a 5th round guy to get the job. Once they got Brax in mini-camp, they jumped him to LT and moved Jenkins to guard. Jenkins was pissed off, and there was tension between him and Bears management.
It doesn't matter what Jenkins thought. The Bears were moving him to guard regardless. It wasn't because Brax impressed them so much on the draft night call. Jenkins didn't even play Left Tackle, he played RIGHT TACKLE! Jason Peters was the left tackle before Brax was drafted. It seems you don't know as much as you think you do.
Peters was always a stop-gap, and they never brought him back the next season. He was injured late in the season, and it wasn’t Borom who took over at LEFT tackle for him. It was Jenkins. So it’s understandable why, when Peters was not brought back, Jenkins figured he’d get the LT job. Brax didn’t nail down the job until training camp progressed, and the decision was made to have him at LT and move Jenkins to guard. That was also during training camp. Jenkins said he thought he was never given enough snaps at LT in training camp to compete for the job, and that was unfair because it was his job to lose after Peters exit.

Jenkins may have taken over at LT when Peters got hurt, but he was supposed to start out at RT. And Jenkins might have figured he'd get the LT job, but obviously that wasn't the plan and was foolish thinking because it was a whole new regime in place:
"The second-year offensive lineman has experienced a wild ride this summer. He missed seven practices early in training camp with an undisclosed injury, was the subject of trade rumors and then lined up as the third-team right tackle upon returning to action."
AND
"After opening the offseason as the Bears’ presumed starting right tackle, Jenkins found himself demoted during OTAs and fighting for a roster spot in training camp."
At no point in time was Jenkins ever a consideration by Poles or Flus to be a left tackle. The job was Brax's from the get go and he was never competing with Jenkins for the spot.

You are so picky. Left... right.... tackle... guard... kicker.... what's the difference.
If our greatest challenge with the 2024 Chicago Bears team is whether or not Booker is listed as the starter or not... well, we're in for a GREAT season.

He was demoted because he was acting like a Jack-ass. There was speculation that Bears were trying to trade him. There were people here wanting him out. He did play LEFT tackle to replace Peters. Thait is not a “may”. It’s a fact. He also got some snaps at left tackle in training camp, but it soon became clear that Brax was better than him. It didn’t happen before training camp. This all happened during training camp, and when he was informed, he was pissed off. Olin Kreuz may have contributed in a preseason podcast (before Brax was discovered) saying Jenkins should keep job vacated by Peters.
The point is that Brax earned the job in training camp. They could have kept Jenkins at LT or given it to Borom.
In my opinion, Booker has out-played Walker and deserves the starting job. Walker was holding the job until we found something better. You can “kick him inside” or kick him down a notch in the DE rotation. I don’t care. Booker and Taylor are both better than him.

LOL...ok, whatever you say. I just provided quotes from TWO articles talking about how Jenkins was never in consideration for Left Tackle, but right tackle instead...but I'm sure those articles are wrong and you are right. You should reach out to all the media members and inform them of how wrong they were!
If the coaches thought Booker was better OVERALL than Walker right now, he'd be starting. You can slice it up any way you want to, but thats the bottom line.

That is obviously the bottom line. Now let’s just watch Walker and Booker on the field and see if they are correct.
Your articles can predict whatever. I remember what actually happened in 2022 training camp. I hereby pronounce this dead horse as dead. Time of death was 1:57 pm Pacific Time.
