I think Poles is trading down from 9. Its either my gut....or the Mexican Mole I just ate acting up. The chance to add day 2 pick or picks will be too much for Poles to pass up. IMO he trades down for a DT/DE, adds a WR and a C on day 2.
Not what I would do....but I'm on record as wanting to keep Fields, trade down, and pick the QB next year if needed. (as yes, I know Fields is subpar for a starting QB.) I just love me a trade down! Irrational I know.
I almost chose "other" in the poll for this very reason. I have no clue what will actually happen, but would not be surprised by a trade down. And maybe the Bears have a pair of guys they covet that would fit into a trade down. We've talked about some of them here. But who knows, right?

IMO Poles has a target in mind for #9, one guy he and the staff want (maybe Rome or the other guy). If that guy isn't there then plan-B is a DT. Flus wants a DT. I think Poles trades down for a DT later in the first, adds 1 or 2 day 2 picks for an EDGE and then a WR. I think they are OK with going into TC/PS with who they have at C and G. I'm not OK with that, but Flus wants a DT.
I see Poles coming out of day 1 and 2 of the draft with R1.1 QB (Williams) R1.(tradedown) DT R2. EDGE R3. WR The rest of the draft will be the usual mix of OL/LB/S/RB. I expect the UDFA class to be WR and CB heavy.
I honestly don't know where they are going at #9. The only defense guy who excites me is Latu.

I don't know enough on his neck / back injury. I heard he was told not to play football, then he fused some disc's and transferred schools where he played and obviously did well. Be interesting where he gets drafted, I am thinking he may slide down boards as a result. Pretty quiet on his previous injury though.
My guess is they take Odunze if he's there for them.
I also believe if a top 3 receiver is on the board we we will take him. I am less and less confident one will make it to 9. Cardinals, Chargers, and Giants have all hinted at moving down. QB and MJH would drive up trade value for any of them to trade down. Also heard Cardinals trade back but would potentially then move up to Chargers or Giants. Who knows, I have my doubts that a top receiver will be avail. at nine. I think we may trade back and really no clue who we take. I voted DT3, good as guess as any

He's the best edge in this class by far IMO. If not for his neck history, he'd be a surefire top-7 pick. Yes, it's a risk but he has played 2 seasons w/o incident since being cleared to return. He also has the prototypical scheme fit, size, and length that Poles/Flus have repeatedly said they want.
Man, if Poles is ok with his medical eval, he's the defense player I'm most excited about in this draft for us. You hit on Latu and this defense is immediately elite.
Alt/Odunze/Latu -- those are my 3 targets but honestly still don't know where Poles is going with this.
I'm waiting for Thursday morning to vote. I just don't know.
