Thoughts on packaging the Panthers 2nd rpunder next year to move up from 9? Say a team like NYG or Tennessee was interested?
I could go either way tbh. If none of the WR are there, as well Alt is gone then Id be OK moving back.
We are in a good spot IMO. McCarthy could oush his way into the top 5, which at that point the more QBs that go, the better. As well if Daniels or McCarthy fall we are in a great spot to trade back being just ahead of LV, MIN and DEN. We could get a nice return in a trade back.
I'm dubious about Bowers. Remember when Pitt was going to change NFL OFFs when he came out and the Falcons took him? The promised TEs to me are fool's gold. I'd pass on Bowers at 9. Don't know how low he would have to drop for me to draft him.
I'm beginning to think that all 3 of the top QBs will be gone and all 3 of the top WRs will be gone by pick 7 or 8.
Personally, I'd prefer OL help above a DE/Edge. With a rookie QB, we need to make sure that he gets a relatively clean pocket on 80% - 90% of his passing plays. Based on all the rankings I've seen, there could be some really tasty QR prospects as deep as the 3rd round this year.
I agree those guys may be gone, but I'd go with Edge only because we need another and I think the Ol is decent. Would Alt be an upgrade? Yes, but I'd rather fill the need than upgrade a position. Both are high value positions.

I'm loth to ever move up in the draft unless its for a QB.

Yeah Poles could trade forward with his extra 2nd from 2025. That would be a very Ryan Pace type of thing to do.

Interesting...
Well I like him, but obviously could be wrong.
Its hard with BB cuz TE isn't typically a premium position (FT values say so) but yeah there's rare guys like Gronk or Kelce or Gates who are elite receivers.
For me, I'm putting Bowers one level below blue chip.
Same thing with Latu. He's one level down cuz his floor is lowered by his injury history.

Agree--the only position I would trade up for in the top-10 is QB.
So, if indeed 4 QBs go early as seems likely, Bears are sitting pretty and virtually assured of having either Odunze, the #1 LT, or the #1 Edge fall right into their lap.
I agree. Take the top remaining guy there. Last year I could see a trade down. This year is the time to get an elite player there. Keenan Allen is very likely a 1 year guy here, so Odunze would be a good guy. Whoever is tops on your draft board, take that guy. Yeah, even if the top guy is an edge, take him.

That's what I'm leaning toward too, JABF.
Is a measly 3rd round pick, probably a non-special player, really worth it? I think Poles stays put and takes his guy.
My position hasn’t changed. I am taking Odunze if available. If not, try to trade down for Powers-Johnson. If he’s not “blue”, he’s close to it in my book.
