Don’t go crossing out Harrison. He is WHY I wouldn’t trade Fields. I am confident Fields would be fine with those 3 receivers. So would about 80% of the starting NFL QBs. We agree it ain’t happening.
As stellar a prospect as MHJ is, you don't pass up a great QB prospect for a great WR prospect.
Ever
There have been tons of stellar QB prospects. They are far less predictable than MHJ. He is going to be sensational, unless he breaks a knee. I am confident I have a Super Bowl ready offense in 2025 with Fields plus those 3 receivers. Maybe also with Williams, but not as confident until I see him on the field in a Bears uniform.

OK, man. And QB >> WR in terms of impact. You know this.
Bad trade unless they extend him. 1 year $18m rental aging WR for a 4th in a deep WR class, just not a good decision IMO.
This is pretty much how I feel. But why to piss on everybodys parade. We need a DL star, WR couldve been had in this incredible draft. But, I also get the idea. WR draftees have the highest percentage of not making, thats right even higher than QB!

That's a good deal. He will provide experience and some leadership. Guy is a great route runner and will help the QB. This will not stop Poles to go after a WR in the Draft.
We are just not forced to draft one high. We can and if that WR is good you have 3 guys to cover and worry about all game long.

Who knows, we might still go after Rome if he falls. I see Allen as a 2 year rental. 1 being a FT year. By Rome year #3 he should be consider the #2 or #1 and DJ Moore the #1 or #2 depending on how things go.
Damn, Allen has a 23mil cap hit! 7mil more than DJ Moore. In this case, wish we took some WR from the market, younger, still left with 4th pick.
Thats it, we are out of money, no DE for us. WTF GM
The CAP hit being reported is kinda fishy. Normally the trading team eats any bonus money structured into the current deal which means the Bears should only be on the hook for 18M. I'd look at extending him after the season for something like 2/22M with 14M guaranteed and a 12M signing bonus if he keeps his current stats.
I think he will age well as a saavy vet who knows the route tree very well and will be the WR2. I could see Poles trading 1.9 into the late teens (15-18) & get back a 2nd in the high 30 or lower 40's. The elephant in the room now is JF and what kind of return you get for him after the due diligence on all QB targets is done. I think we might sign a cheaper edge guy and call it an off season until the draft.

Exactly, and that is what I was affraid of. Because DE is mighty important, this was a strong FA class and a weak draft one, so we NEED to get one at 9.
Im hoping they restructure Keenans contract right now into 2/3y one, with lower cap impact, so maybe just maybe, with some moving around and letting Homer go, we can find the $$ for 1/2y deal with Chase Young. That would make me feel much better.
Not sure how I feel about this honestly. Allen is kind of old. Yeah he productive last year but how many more years are we going to get out of him 1, 2? That seems kind of high for a 4th rounder.
He doesn't need to be a #1 guy for us...that alone eases the burden on him. Transitioning him to a slot role eases it even more, which should allow for a few more productive years.
