Bad trade unless they extend him. 1 year $18m rental aging WR for a 4th in a deep WR class, just not a good decision IMO.
I hate to be a downer (glad to see we signed him), but yeah. 32 years old and we gave up a 4th. Now we would not have gotten a player like him for a 4th but he is short lived. Looking at the positive side of it for sure, but this rose does have thorns.
But at least for a year or two, we have two legit WRs
Not sure how I feel about this honestly. Allen is kind of old. Yeah he productive last year but how many more years are we going to get out of him 1, 2? That seems kind of high for a 4th rounder.
He’s age 32 but I like this deal even if only for one year. I was begging for Hopkins last year, and told he is too “old”. Allen is a GREAT route runner, and will help Williams launch his career. That’s the greatest benefit of this trade. Has Poles ever done anything with a 4th round pick? That’s not important.
No doubt Allen is a great runner, and I'm sure a real leader in the locker room too

If Allen leaves after 1 year Bears would most likely get a mid level comp pick.
I like it and I don't. Deep WR class with a chance to get one of the top 3 WRs in the draft.
I'm seeing either a pass rusher or a trade down at this point. Pick up JPJ in the late first round to have a good center. Hopefully he can add real talent and depth at the position.

Well, hey.... we needed WR help, and he is good. Can't complain too much. We'll worry about Allen when he can't catch any more. Right now, he should be a big contributor.

Same here. I'm kinda mixed but pumped at the same time. Right now, I'll take it as a win and run with it.

Yep, at least we got two good WRs for Williams to throw too. Hopefully he can have a long term contact for him since we'll have a rookie contract.
I would absolutely love it but it won't happen because he won't be playing here in September.
Don’t go crossing out Harrison. He is WHY I wouldn’t trade Fields. I am confident Fields would be fine with those 3 receivers. So would about 80% of the starting NFL QBs. We agree it ain’t happening.
As stellar a prospect as MHJ is, you don't pass up a great QB prospect for a great WR prospect.

I know its hard to believe but we actually look like a real passing offense for the first time in a decade.
