Trading up from the #9 overall pick to the #3 overall pick.
#3 Valued at 2200
#9 Valued at #1350
Bears trade R1 #9 1350 2024 Bears trade R1 ? 2025 Valued at 500 if we're assuming they stay the same rank Bears trade Justin Fields.
In Return.
We get #3 overall in 2024
Patriots R3 2025 255 Assuming they hold the record they have.
It suck to lose a first round pick next year but similar to Texas. We wouldn't be regretting it with a talent like Harrison. A win win for both teams.
Patriots get a Starting QB, #9 overall pick, and a 1st round pick to help build their franchise back up. Bears get a generational WR to build around a young QB.
I would be okay with defense if that is the best bang-for-the-buck there. I don't advocate reaching and over-drafting just to check a box. My personal dream draft would be to keep Fields, draft MHJ in a tiny trade-down, and get Newton as our 3T, then hopefully there is a 2nd round pick from the small trade-down that allows us to get the best offensive center in this draft with it. LOL, that is my meatball special pipe dream :-)
But I fully admit I don't know squat about it all.
Everyone knows I'm not a fan of Fields but imagine having
DJ Moore #1 WR Harrison #2 WR Bowers #1 TE Kmet #2 TE
That would be an elite offense of skill players.
Bowers wouldn't be the TE1. He'd be the U TE and be more like a big slot receiver. Look at his snap rates in college...he routinely was in the slot WAY more than he was ever lined up in-line.

Can the guy block? Eberflus ain’t buying a TE or WR who can’t block.
No. 9 pick imo depends a LOT on the FA. It would be great to draft one of the top DEs there, as that position is real pricey, but not if we just splashed big bucks on another (Sweat being first) acqusition.

That kind of blows up my plan of a 3T or DE at 9. Also, the article mentions an inexperienced QB, so I think their plan is to trade JF. So that means getting a WR further down. I am guessing with a pick from the JF trade? I get wanting to get an elite LT, but we were doing decent on that side. We need a C more. I think we can then see how the line performs. but JMO

IOL is the problem, tackles are fine as is this year
+1 I've got to admit I'm feeling a lot like when I was a little boy waiting for Christmas.
I have been looking at centers. I am seeing MANY mock drafts with Powers-Johnson going in the first round. Traditionally, #9 is too high for a center. But if you want this guy, maybe try to trade down in first round to get him and a third round pick in exchange for #9. Then use the second round pick you got for Fields to add a WR. The WR group is deep, so we can get a good WR2 there.
