1. “He’s going to continually get better.” 2. “I’m glad he’s on the Chicago Bears.”
You can’t get a much stronger endorsement than that. If Fields is traded, those words will be quoted back to him at his next press conference, especially that second statement.

I just hope that the Bears get this QB1 decision right this time around. If it's Fields, I'll be happy with that (I would then hope they draft Marvin Harrison Jr). It could be the best option. But if the Bears do draft a new QB, I just hope it plays out to be the best option. Let's just hope the Bears get it right this time.

Right. Whether it’s Fields or Williams, I just want a Super Bowl ready team by 2025. There’s a new article in The Athletic today promoting Williams. It really contrasts with Warren’s Fields endorsement. The have almost nothing good to say about Fields.
Wouldn’t it be ironic if Fields follows Trubisky to Pittsburg?

Got to ask you.
Seeing the 49ers lose against the Chiefs with multiple and I mean multiple All Pros throughout the offense. Do you really think Fields can beat Mahomes? This would be the team we would go up against?
When you see Fields 4th Quarter performances. I just don't see it.

+1 I thought about how ironic that would be too, if Fields followed Trubs to Pittsburgh. And I take Kevin Williams' comment with a grain of salt. If they are planning on trading Fields it makes sense to talk well of him.

After 4 quarters, the game was tied 19-19. And there was a missed extra point by the 49ers. Football is a game of team vs. team — not a QB vs. QB. With Harrison, a good center, and a competent OC, and possibly another quality WR at #9 added to the Bears #1-#2 rushing offense, we are top-5 scoring offense with Fields at QB.
This is a dead horse. Don’t bother quoting Fields’ statistics for the 100th time.

The 49ers have 7 all pro players on their team and still lost to Mahomes. A QB who's only good weapon going into the season was Kelce. That's it... They lead the league in drop passes this year.
We just saw what happens when you put an average QB behind a super team. They still lose to elite QB's. That's assuming Fields even gets up to a Tier 2 QB. Purdy looks like a true Tier 2 QB.
Football is a team sport but at the end of the day. There is a reason why teams give up 1-3 first round picks plus more to get a QB.
The chiefs dynasty wouldn't be a thing without Mahomes. They tried it with Alex Smith and many consider Andy Reid a choke artist in the playoffs. Now he's consider an all time great because of one man. Patrick Mahomes. Bill Belichick legacy is built off Tom Brady. We saw what happen when he left. Brady won a Super Bowl while Bill got worse each year.

Yes, I am not surprised that Poles, Warren, Flus would say positive things about Fields. But “I am glad he’s a Chicago Bear” and “He’s going to continually improve” raises the question “Why then trade him and pass over Harrison, unless Poles really is blown away with Williams?”

That’s all wonderful if Williams is Mahomes 2.0. That’s far from guaranteed. I could be wrong, too, about Fields and my plan. I really don’t care which route Poles takes, if we’re Super Bowl ready by 2025. Both could work. Both could fail.

What's better for long term success. Being one and done in the Super Bowl and winning just one isn't success in my book. Going for multiple runs is what we should truly want. I'm not asking for a Mahomes 2.0. I take an Allen or Burrow. Even an Herbert who will be doing good under Jim Harbaugh.
Super teams rarely work in the modern NFL.
We seen that with the 49ers, Eagles, Seahawks.
The last Super Team that won was the Rams. Look at them since their Super Bowl win. No where close to the top.
I don't see Fields as a Tier 1 QB. At best he can be a respectable Tier 2. Is that what we truly want? Just average?
