Of all the possible scenarios, I’m 100% convinced that the Bears drafting Williams #1 overall is the worst move the Bears could make. I’ve already given plenty of reasons why in other threads.
100%? Damn, thats a lot
Yeah, it cuts it down to.... oh let's see..... carry the two, divide by three, take the remainder and round it up.... I think its around 10% if you drop the 1
We need a QB that can close out a game and win. If he needs to come from behind, he needs to be able to do that. I don't care how many yards he throws for. I care if he can win
Well Fields can't do that. He's horrible in the 4th quarter. He also has a losing record.
In the modern NFL. You should care about how many passes a QB completed. We got Jordan Love doing it in his sleep.
No. Fields hasn't done that. The whole bet is whether or not he can. Hasn't and can't are two very different ideas. If we knew that can't was the operative word, then it would be easy to decide on whether or not to draft a QB

MOTM has a point. Is Love is getting it done in his sleep? That's our problem. Getsy had Fields trying to do it all awake

And of course MOTM, the broken record, ignores Love has a better team and coach calling plays.

No but with data and stats can help track that. You can see if he can truly do something. He's not a good NFL passer. That's just reality. He's a good running qb. Very talented in that field.

Yep, he HASN'T
He HASN'T even thrown for 3000 yards yet in 3 years and 3000 yards is a low bar.
I love this idea that we are gonna find a magical new OC who is gonna suddenly turn Justin Fields into Justin Herbert. The triumph of hope over experience. Fields would have to double his average yearly pass production just to equal Herbert.

Love has definitely a better coach, I'll give you that.
But I wouldn't necessarily say that GB is a better team. I'd argue that, at least in 2023, we have better receivers and certainly better TEs. And despite having a crappy OL, we had the second best running game (rushing yds per game). And the defense wasn't too bad, either.
Once again, people are trying to make so many excuses for Fields instead of admitting that he's just not special. The way he's playing after three seasons was not worth the 11th pick overall. Sorry.
