Eagles were 28 ppg in 2022 and 26 ppg in 2023. It was there defense that has failed the last 6 weeks.
Do you have a problem with a balanced offense? What’s wrong with 6,000 yards in total offense about equally divided between rushing and passing? Based on per game average, Fields would have 3,400 yards in 17 games, and more than that if it were weighted to reflect that it improved in more recent games. It would clearly be even more in 2024 with Harrison and JABFs new center.
So much for the legendary carter....
My problem is a qb who hasn't thrown 3k yards.... NFL offense allows 4k for even average qbs now. Fields is trash at that. You have to remember. We have one of the weakest schedules and still have a losing record.
Carter doesn’t play offense. As I said, 28ppg in 2022 and 26 ppg in 2023. Keep your eye on the ball.
Do the math on Fields. Again, using his per game average, he’d be at 3,400+ yards for 17 games. Now add Harrison + new center into the mix for 2024. Bears ran for 3,000 yards in 2022 and finished second in 2023. I think 2,800 is reasonable expectation for 2024. Add just 3,500 passing, and we have a balanced offense and one of the league leaders in total offense.
I know we hear this most years and just because the talking heads tell us this, it doesn't always come true. I am not convinced there is a QB in this class that is as good as Fields. I'm talking about a Fields with an NFL quality offensive coordinator - something he has never had here in Chicago. I flat KNOW that no kid from this draft class is going to shine with Luke Getsy calling plays and setting up game plans. Not happening. I'm just not climbing on the hype-train for Caleb, or for that matter any of these 2024 QBs. Bring in Marvin Harrison Jr. and a legit offensive coordinator - and fix the OL (all doable in 2024) and Fields > than any QB in this class. JMO.

How could you know any of it David? A month or so ago you was through with Justin, 100%. Saying there is no better QB in draft is like saying there is no better WR than Moore (way more probable than Fields), or even worse, that there is no better DT than Dexter. Im 99% sure there is at least one QB, in this draft, (much) better than Justin. We have number one pick, its Poles job to find it.
So much wrong with this post. He's a game manager??? LMAO!!!! He's a big game friggen hunter! He can't make special plays?!!!! Seriously? How many times has his teammates let him down in the 4th quarter?
LOve has lesser talent???!!! What friggen NFL are you watching dude? You're drunk...go to bed.
DJ Moore and Kmet are better than anything the Packers have right now.
Love is going to be a 4k passer this year. Fields isn't even close to 3k.
Great...now do the rest of the team. I've covered this already...Doubs, Reed, Wicks, & Melton are so much better than Mooney, Scott, EQ and Velus its not even funny. And Kraft is better than Tonyan. Fields also missed 4 games, otherwise he would be at 3k. I mean this isn't difficult.

I don't get why everyone thinks that bringing in MHJ is suddenly going to make Fields' passing yards go up. His problem is he doesn't see the field well and often fails to see guys who are open. It's not his receivers not being open. He also often makes his throws late. So it's not going to matter if MHJ is wide open if Fields doesn't see him or lets the ball go late and it gets broken up.
I mean do you really think MHJ is going to add another 1000 yards to the stats? Where would these throws even come from? The criticism of Getsy is that he doesn't use Fields' legs enough. So are we going to try make him a pocket passer now? The thing he struggles with the most?

I think MHJ is the best player in the draft. I agree with your assessment on Fields. I've said same thing. I believe Flus and Fields are getting one more year. So give him the best player, and if he still faulters we draft our QB next season and he will have a great amount of pieces to throw to.

Harrison will have 1,400 yards his second year, if not sooner. Fields will have three reliable targets. Bears will be top-5 in total offense. He will not be an exclusively pocket passer.

Fields has shown improvement the last half of the season. Could there be a QB in this draft who is better? Could be. And I could win the lottery this month and be rich too. It is a gamble drafting a QB1. On the other hand I have seen with my own eyes the improvement with Fields - even having to overcome Luke Getsy's play calling and offense. Fields floor is pretty darned good right now. With a new OC and a solid offensive line (center) and Marvin Harrison Jr. - we are "set" on offense. Could some draftee be good? Sure. But that is more of a risk going that route and also it weakens our draft for other needed positions on offense (forget Marvin Harrison if you draft Caleb).

That makes sense to me. If for some reason Fields doesn't work out, hey, for the first time in probably 60 years or more, the Bears will have a loaded offense for a new kid to quarterback. I figure going this route is win/win. If Fields is great, hey, we win. If Fields disappoints, we draft a new QB1 in 2025 (and with a trade down this year we can have 2 first round picks again NEXT year too), I think that new QB will at least have a fighting chance of succeeding here. And I can't imagine the 2025 draft NOT having a QB better than Caleb. I am so NOT impressed with him being a Chicago QB. He doesn't seem to have the emotional makeup to me. And I'm not impressed with his play in the games I've watched. He sure didn't put USC on his back and do anything great. The games I watched he lost.

But he's missing his reliable targets now. What makes you think adding more is going to make any substantial difference?
MHJ is a really polished route runner. That would basically be a waste since Fields has problems throwing with anticipation. Fields is at is generally better when throwing off schedule.
