I only saw Penix, and imo hes decent. But, Bagent could be decent too.

I wonder whether other GMs view the Trey Lance and Bryce Young deals as a cautionary tale, and will hesitate this year to do it again. If Poles could pull this off two years in a row, that would be impressive.

if not. just trade down one or two spots for MHJ and a second round pick for a center.  

When we start talking about trading picks, we need to keep the trade value chart that re commonly used in the back of our minds.  There has been a lot of discussion about this over the years.  But it seems that it is pretty common and virtually everybody uses the chart when discussing trades.  Here is a good discussion from 2019 on this with Belichick (link). 

Here is a link to the current drafttek.com 2024 trade value chart.  Here is a trade calculator that does the lookup and math for you.  In trading draft picks, a future draft pick loses 1 round in value for each year out from the date of the current draft.  Meaning your 1st round pick in the 2025 draft is valued the same as if it is your second round pick in 2024.  And your 1st round pick in 2026 would be the same value as your 2024 third round pick.

If we swap our first round pick with the Patriots, that is the #1 (trade value 3000) for the #3 (trade value 2200).  So, we need to see some combination of draft picks worth 800 points.  So that would require that we get their 2nd round pick in 2024 (#3 in the 2nd or trade value 550) and their 3rd round pick (#3 in the 3rd or trade value 255).  A total of 805 points.  But we could do it by swapping their current 1st round picks and the Patriots giving their 2025 and 2026 1st round picks.
