Fields is not having anything to do with the play of all these defensive players Poles brought in: Gordon, Brisker, Pickens, Stevenson, Dexter, Edmunds, etc.
Other than Moore, JJ, and (hopefully) Sweat where are the blue-chip players on this team? Wright has 10 penalties and 7 sacks allowed. Both of the other Jones rookie tackles are outplaying him.
All I hear is that Poles draftees are going to be much better next year. Maybe so. But until it happens, the rookies the Lions and Packers (and others) have brought in 2022 and 2023 are performing better than Poles roster.
If you had a point there, you failed to make it.
Yes, need more blue chip players no question. We have only had 1 FRP pick to work with so far in the Poles era. Coming Soon
I repeat, the reason(s) the Bears are 4-8 instead of 7-5 or 6-6 are A) their coaching staff blows chunks and B) Fields remains disapppinting as a passer. At least inconsistently impressive anyway. Whether it’s the QB or the coaches or most likely both, these guys haven't "taken the next step" as we all hoped back in August.
