If you think the person below you is "very incompetent" there shouldn't be any issues because that person should no longer be there. Either way, I think Poles has proven he's not incompetent.
I think folks are worrying too much. Unless and until we see otherwise, I figure Warren and Poles are on the same page. And we won't know who, if anyone will be fired until it happens. We just need to wait and see how this all plays out. Not worth any of us getting worked up about it now. FWIW, I figure Poles is going to be a good GM for us for many years to come. He has made some mistakes but that comes with the territory of hiring a young guy like we did. Expect some growing pains as he settles into the new job... he hasn't even been here 2 years yet.

Didn't Warren help the turn around the Vikings including their Stadium? It's not like Warren just showed up one day. I think he was the one that brought in Speilman who in turned made some good moves for them.
You would. There is ZERO proof that Poles is incompetent. If you can't admit that Poles did a good job orchestrating the tear down and has set this franchise on a path of future success with cap and draft resources as well as some good players to build around...well...thats certainly a you issue.
As I have said before, a trained chimp can tank the franchise for cap and draft picks.
Sure they can...the NFL landscape is littered with examples of franchises who have done it effectively...
I need to see Warren in action before I am convinced he’s in charge.
Everything I have read indicates he's the real deal.
He's cleaning house on the coaching staff (thank God).
And that's probably not good news for Justin Fields. A new HC is gonna want a new QB.
Maybe. Justin Fields has shown enough and has more than enough tools that an incoming coach might look at him and the ability to add impact players right away with the draft and free agency and say "I am pretty sure I can win right away with this guy if we add MHjr and X,Y, Z players and that at the least earns me a contract extension"...
As for Warren and questions as to whether he's in charge...I don't know where people get the idea that George is bossing around GM's or presidents. I don't think he knows any better so he stays out of their way...which is part of the problem because previous to this he's hired some bad football people.

And for what its worth...EVERY GM makes mistakes...big ones at that. None of them are perfect and always make the right moves or only make small mistakes. Expecting otherwise is foolish.

He is a very interesting guy. He has had a unique life-journey to this point, with a broad background that has made him a powerful sports executive. I don't think there is another person anywhere with his unique attributes. He was hit by a car as a small boy and it was thought that he would never walk again, much less play any sports. He was bed-ridden for months after that. But he did recover and he was actually a star basketball player at the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to get a law degree from Notre Dame. His dad and uncle were both exceptional college football athletes (his dad played professional football briefly in the 1940's, but in a now defunct league). Anyway, Warren is an attorney with a rich background of experience as a sports executive - really diverse, from attorney stuff to football executive administration, and then he really took the Big Ten to a whole different level as the Commissioner there (his "people skills" must be amazing to herd THAT group... like trying to herd cats - with all of the big-egos in those college presidents, athletic directors and coaches).
He is an impressive guy to listen to. He seems brilliant and a man with strong (extremely strong) leadership skills at the executive level. Here are a few articles about him.

+1,000 to that. And I would add that it would be tragic to ride out the first couple of "learning curve years" with Poles and THEN part ways with him. Right now the Bears are positioned to experience the return on that learning curve investment in this very young GM.
