Little bit of everyone again even though I picked defense today. They were awful from the get go. What was Herbert 15/15 to start the game? Don't think he has a miss until late second quarter. Jones can't get back fast enough. I appreciate Whitehair, but he's Olin Kreutz right now. Past his prime, and constantly being beat.
So much for Flus being a good DC. IDK what this guy brings to the table. Nothing that I can see. He and Getsy can go eff themselves as far as I'm concerned and I won't miss them one bit when they are shown the door on Black Monday. 5-20 is their record--worst in Bears history and the Bears don't exactly have a good history.
Although I'm not quite "full David" yet, Poles is not above some legit criticism here too. His investment in Edmunds and Edwards has not aged well so far. And the Bears once again have one of the worst pass rushes in the NFL. Absolutely terrible. Walker, Yannick, DomRob, and Greene all suck. And his draft picks on the interior (Dexter & Pickens) haven't shown much yet either. It is a pretty bleak picture -- did Poles draft/sign poorly or is Flus not getting much out of what he has?
I went with OL on my 2nd choice. They had 4-5 major fuckups in the 1st two drives which cost us a chance to take an early lead. They stabilized and played much better in the 2nd half but the game was out of reach by then. This team doesn't have the firepower to come back from a 2-score deficit.
3rd deflated ball goes to the refs. They didn't decide the game but they would have if it had been close. Bears got screwed on every call the first half. Took away Mooney's TD, phantom PI call on Tyrique, missed Herbert's grounding, etc., etc.
All in all, a shitty performance with once again Flus/Getsy getting schooled and looking unprepared. Bagent had no chance.

As are as Poles v coaching re draft picks I see it as a combo. I don't think Poles has optimized his picks with the BPA at the time. Yes I understand positional value as far as picks and that you don't double up on positions. He's left talent on the board. But, he's picking players (except for VJones) were they are expected to go for the most part. That brings me to coaching. Dexter and Pickens should be playing--full stop. How is the DEF going to be any worse with them out there? Why is Pickens, a player who employed a quick first step to get into the backfield being asked to gain weight to play NT?
what Getsy is trying to do is beyond me. Some of that is down to the OL being terrible (due to Poles not addressing with a C.) Again, let me say what I've been saying for some time. He uses players wrong and doesn't scheme to strengths. Remember the Hester rules? Getsy needs to employ the Moore rules. Every third throw should be to Moore (I'm kidding....or am I?) OFF issues are all OL and Getsy's playcalling.
