Griz, I hope it's okay I posted this one. We still have 9 games to play. But how are you seeing 2024 at this point? What coaches go... do any stay? What about Poles? Should Warren reset the entire GM/coaching staff? Or do you keep Poles? What are our top-3 needs in the draft now, as far as how you see it?
Getsy's play calling sure was bad at times. The poor tackling was pretty tough to watch... it just killed the defense.
*** On a positive note, I think Tyson Bagent will learn a TON from this game. I really think it was a GREAT opportunity for him to get a feel for what a good NFL defense is like going against. Some of those passes were great tonight while some were just not passes you even try to make at the NFL level (some looked like D2 stuff that just end up picks in the NFL (or should have been picks). But tonight's game was good for the rookie to make throws and learn. I think he will learn a lot from tonight's game. I think we do have a solid backup QB here in Bagent. And maybe we should watch him play at New Orleans too... one more game before Fields starts again.
I voted for the defense, but getsys play calling sucked, flus didn't have the team ready to play and threw a bad red flag to boot. And then the refs threw the game just in case we started to figure it out.

Little bit of everyone again even though I picked defense today. They were awful from the get go. What was Herbert 15/15 to start the game? Don't think he has a miss until late second quarter. Jones can't get back fast enough. I appreciate Whitehair, but he's Olin Kreutz right now. Past his prime, and constantly being beat.

Everyone except Bagent. I didn't have high expectations for Bagent and he performed exactly like I thought he would. He has the makings to be a solid backup QB.
Talking about D, what is depressing is players. When you see that introductions and rankings (i know, i know, but still), so many guys are at the very bottom. Especially our DL. Bottom.
Only decent line is LBs and Jaylon is the lone D star. Everything else is replacable.
Poles/Flus did what Pace/Nagy did, they decided to NOT go all in to fix the O w/a young qb, put a ton of resources into the def, and the def sucks. The WR's and TE's are still a serious weak point. Much like 1 DE(Mack on the Bears) can be limited and shut down. Mooney/VJJ/Claypool/Kmet are all depth pieces on real NFL offenses. And all those def resources didn't fix the one piece that the def needs, a legit interior DL.
Everything about this team was set up to lose. Lose last year, lose this year. Poles has built up a team the exact opposite of how you do it, outside in. DB's lb's, wr's(and not good ones). I'm not judging a back 7 when the front 4 cannot get pressure; it's impossible to do their job when the front 4 don't do their's.
Poor team building, poor thought processes equal a poor team on the field. VJJ slipped, had the ball still hit him in the chest and he still dropped it. pressure up the gut of the qb all night and the qb isn't ever trying to hold for the big play and still getting defenders in his face. LP, CW, those 2 cannot be your starters, and shouldn't be backups.
