Cowboys Trade Rumor: No. 1 Target is Jaylon Johnson.

Ravens run a 3-4, don't care if it's hybrid or not. most defenses are. They didn't pay Ro to be a 4-3 MLB taking on traffic. It doesn't matter what his grade is in Balt, that doesn't mean he'd grade out the same in Chicago. This is football 101, it's like grading Mahomes and thinking he would play the same here w/out a Hof HC(who calls the O plays) and a HoF TE. 

PFF is also a fucking joke, I know you need it to try and justify your takes, but no one here is looking at that and going, wow really, I'm swooned and swayed by the PFF grade, give me Ro back for the bears 4-3 and his record setting contract. 

here are their real numbers, not the PFF made up BS.

Smith: 71 tackles, 36 solo 0 fumbles, 0 recovered, 0 ints 5 PD's, 2.5 stuffs and 1.5 sacks 
Edmunds 62 tackles, 35 solo 0 fumbles 1 recovered, 1 int, 3 pd's, 5 stuffs and 0 sacks. 

Smith has 1 more solo tackle(don't care about assists as those tend to be inflated by the team), has 2 less turnovers, 2 more passes defended, 2.5 less stuffs and 1.5 more sacks. Smith is the 5th highest paid LB in the league, Edmunds in the 10th, Edwards is the 35. They combined make 10mil less than Smith. 

These are extremely similar stats, for a significantly lower contract(27mil less) and actually fits the scheme of the def being run here; and actually wants to be here. Smith wants to be in balt and is playing in a system that suits him. Good for him, good for Trumane. They are both good LB's for their teams.

in a 3-4 he excels, great we aren't in a 3-4.

I'll repeat it as long as people keep trying to use it to justify terrible ideas like we should have paid almost 30mil more to play a player out of position rather then bring in a comparable 4-3 MLB for less. 

And they are comparable, you can use totals, you can use pff, you can use whatever you want, but for 30 mil less Edmunds in THIS DEFENSE on this team is comparable to Ro in the BALT DEFENSE. 

While Flus most certainly deserves whatever comes his way, in my opinion Getsy failed even more so in that the development of Fields falls in his wheelhouse. As a team, the Bears needed to know what they have in Fields. That alone is what was most important this season as it tees up what happens in the next draft and beyond. Getsy has failed here and truthfully so has Fields.

Not sure what Getsy could have done for Fields. If he got the yips and was seeing ghosts before Getsy even was brought in, Getsy's die was cast before he signed the contract. Unlike Nagy though, There is a qb on this roster that appears to be able to get the job done the way Getsy wants it. If that continues, or if that allows Fields the ability to get past whatever his issues were, than I think Getsy has shown promise in a way that might be worth keeping him and Flus, especially if his def keeps getting better as he calls the plays.


Didn't want either of them mind you, thought they were both bad hires, but I'm not blaming them for the shit Poles, purposefully, gave them. The team was never set up to win, so I'm not holding either accountable for it. Fields might never have been able to develop after his rookie year, and that's assuming he could have regardless; I'm sorry but the issues he had in college are still issues he has 3 years into the NFL and I don't buy that coaches haven't taught him he cannot get away with it in the pro's.
