I voted for Bagent. I would have preferred to have a Bagent & Foreman option because Foreman had a really solid game today.
Bit for Bagent, let's not get our hopes too high. The Raiders are a pretty bad team. Bagent played well and made some really solid changes at the line. But his ceiling could be something along the order of Alex Smith. A solid QB and a great team player who never win the big game.
I have no idea how he will develop, but I think it will be fun to watch.
Alex Smith is a boarderline starter that took teams to conference championships. Bears haven't had a qb that good since....the mid 80's?
Raiders are a bad team, but they are a good Defense, they were top 10 in ppg and they were #2 in run def, and Crosby is a top pass rusher. It's one of the better defenses the Bears have played all year.
Ric, the Raiders 29th in the league against the rush, and 23rd in the league in total yards given up. They're 22nd in the league in points per game given up...that defense is pretty freakin bad. Crosby is a stud though.
They also really haven't played any good running teams. The Bears are actually probably the first team they've played with the running game to show how bad they really are against it.

that is as of today after the game when the other games haven't finished. They weren't that during/before the game. Trust me, I looked, multiple times b/c I couldn't believe it myself. They were on the opposite end of the standings as the Bears
We'll have to see how Bagent develops. I really like this guy, as a person. And I think he had a lot of tough situations to go through as a developing player. At least to me, he shows an enormous amount of maturity and level-headed play. These are skills critical to being a good QB. So, he may have a huge upside. But we have to see it play out.
+1 All good points, and I agree with you. Speaking of QB skills, this week I watched some of his college play, and his preseason plays. Then I watched this game today. It looks to me like Bagent has one priceless skill, or attribute. He is able to process the game information realtime at an elite speed - with accuracy. That is the attribute so many of our failed QBs just did not possess. It's just a mental gear they didn't have. Fields clearly lacks it. You can tell Fields struggles and sometimes it's like he has a brain-lock (first play of that last game). And you can't learn this skill. Your brain either has that mental gear or it doesn't. It sure looks like Bagent has it. Today when under pressure he made the correct decisions we have all wanted Fields to make... but in his 3rd season he is no closer to executing correctly in those situations. Bagent did. First game ever in the NFL, and Bagent was processing the game exceptionally well.

What I saw in the game is that Getsy and Bagent took what the defense gave them and moved the offense methodically. Fields, on the other hand, constantly looks for the big play and it ends up in either a costly sack/fumble or an interception.
If Fields wants to be considered a #1 QB, he needs to learn to take what the defense gives him and move the offense methodically down the field instead of looking for the big play all the time.

+1 And I did like the accuracy and touch Bagent has on those short throws. Fields seems to struggle making those same throws, way too often.
The top 5 qb's in T2T are all under 2.5, Tua, Trevor, Burrow, Jones, Dalton,
top 10 are all under 2.7. Purdy, Minshew, Ridder, Prescott, Stafford.
Only 6 qb's in the NFL are over 3 seconds, Hurts, Watson, Fields, Smith, Stroud, Wilson.
Top QB Ratings and T2T Purdey 119 2.6, Tua 110.4 2.37, Jackson, 101.9 2.79, Mahomes 101 .93, and Allen 100.7 2.98.
The Key is getting that ball out under 3 seconds consistently. Mahomes and Allen take deep shots throughout the game, but it's not the majority of the plays, just the highlights. It's what Fields needs to learn.
