You don't think Jackson is an elite football player? Seriously? And you want to talk about garbage to throw too...the guy has basically only had a tight end to throw to the majority of his career.
I think some here have been drinking too much whiskey after trashing their Koolaid on Sunday.😁

I don’t wanna get off topic here, but I’ll just say this regarding Lamar Jackson. He’s had one amazing season in 2019, I’ll give him that. RG3 had one too in 2012. But honestly, what has Lamar done since? Let’s look at his numbers as a passer over the past three seasons (2020-2022).
RAT of 99.3, 87.0, 91.1 (avg. of 92.5 RAT) 7,881 yards in 39 games (2,627 yards per season, 202 yards per game) 59 TD, 29 INT – 1.5 TDPG, 0.7 INTPG 4 post season games: 3 TD, 5 INT, 2 lost fumbles
And now just for the sake of argument, let’s compare these numbers to Trubisky’s stats the last three seasons in Chicago (2018-2020), who btw didn’t have weapons to throw to, either:
RAT of 95.4, 83.0, 93.5 (avg. of 90.6 RAT) 8,416 yards in 39 games (2,805 yards per season, 216 yards per game) 57 TD, 30 INT – 1.5 TDPG, 0.8 INTPG 2 postseason games: 2 TD, no pick, no fumble
As you can see, they’re pretty much the same as passers and Mitch was hardly a good QB, wouldn't you agree? This is why I call Lamar overrated. If you said he’s a decent QB and nice to have on the roster I would agree. But how anyone can claim that he’s elite w/ these stats as a passer is laughable.
Of course some of you will point out his rushing stats and that’s fine. But the truth is dual threat QBs are fun to watch in college but almost never work in the NFL. It’s not a QB’s job to rush the football – you have RBs for that. Which is btw one of the main issues that Fields has. He’s got to have more pocket awareness, better field vision and needs to stop running around like a crazy chicken.

Watch Eagles and Ravens. They could both be in the Super Bowl this year.

Until Jackson starts winning in the playoffs more then losing none of it matters. Great athlete yes, great qb, no. Could he become one possibly, but the arm has to catch up w/the legs

Watch him hit bombs to Flowers. They have a dynamite passing game this year.

Except you HAVE to include his rushing because that is something he brings to the table, and he does it in a way only one other QB really can. Beyond that...again...the dude has had absolute garbage at receiver virtually his whole career. His leading receiver just about every year was the tight end. He was superb in 2019, and then he was nearly as good in 2020. In 21 and 22 he didn't play full seasons. We'll see how he finishes out this year with better receiving weapons and an offense more rooted in todays game.
Perhaps if NFL coaches got their heads out of their asses and incorporated more college schemes, they'd find they could be successful with more of the players coming into the league.

Again until all this counts towards wins, and specifically playoff wins, the point stands. QB's who's special is running don't matter. Didn't matter for Vick, didn't matter for Cunningham or Cam. Those 3 didn't win in the playoffs more then they lost. Steve Young did the passing/rushing combo to a SB, once, was sub .500 outside that year. And that SB year he ran less than the years that preceded it.

There are teams in the NFL that have incorporated RPO concepts in their offensive schemes (Dolphins, Chiefs, Bills, Eagles, etc). And you can be successful doing it. But IMO it requires one big part. The person who is designing the offense needs to be extremely knowledgeable in all things offensive football, intelligent and creative.

Ok...now list all the QB's who do nothing but pass. Marino was 8-10 in the playoffs with NO SUPERBOWL WINS ...he was one of the most prolific passers in the game. Philip Rivers...5-7 in the playoffs. Matt Ryan...4-6 in the playoffs. Matt Stafford...0-3 in the playoffs before he finally landed on a really good team with a good defense! We can do this forever.
Speaking of Vick and guys with no receivers...his best receiver in Atlanta was his tight end too! Alge Crumpler! He didn't get decent receivers until he went to Philly...unfortunately by then he was 30 years and coming off a two year jail stint.
The bottom line is that you CAN win with a QB that runs. Roger Staubach was considered a running QB for his time...correct me if I'm wrong...but he won...right? John Elway was a runner...he won...right? Russel Wilson was a running QB...he won...right? Cam didn't win a Super Bowl because he chose for a moment to NOT be a runner and recover a fumble lol...plus that Denver D was crazy! But he made it there. Hell...Steve Young didn't become a starter until he was 30 years old. Had he not he surely would have ran for more than the 4200 yards he ran for, and he won...he was 8-6 in the playoffs.
