The rumor originally was that Fangio wanted out though...he directly refuted that. Now that could all be coach speak..we won't really know till the off season one way or another.

The team has not played well. Popular players like Forte and Forte have been traded. If he gets rid of Fangio, I just wonder how the defense --- particularly the younger guys that have really gotten better under him will react. We may have "The Trestman Mutinies - Fox Edition", may be playing at Halas Hall.
I've personally come to the conclusion that I am going to try to not get too worked up over anything regarding the Bears the remaining season. It's a game. Enjoy what I can (and I did enjoy that last game immensely) and don't let a bad season get me down. Life on planet earth will go on, even if we have a rough season.
I do enjoy sharing the ride with you folks here though. It's my small-group therapy for sure. Anyone can be a Pats fan, or a Broncos fan - or any of those fan-easy teams. Gotta be one tough and crazy guy to be a lifer Bears fan... with emphasis on the "crazy" :-)
How much control does Pace have? I still don't believe Fox was Pace's guy.
That's what I've been saying all along. No way Fox was Pace's guy. Ted and George didn't want to have the youngest GM and a rookie HC at the same time, which is why they pressured him to go after the experienced guy just to balance things out. Pace needs to learn that just because he's young doesn't mean he cannot speak his mind and make all the decisions. I think he feels initimated by Fox's age and experience and doesn't realize how much power he actually has.

No matter how bad our beloved Bears are, always remember things could be worse. Then again, is there really such a big difference between the Bears and Browns?
Let's just hope Soldier Field doesn't become another 'Factory of Sadness'. We deserve better.

Yep, and personally I'm choosing to get saner by the moment. I've had it up to my higher than I would like it to be forehead with all this trauma drama so I can't wait for January 2nd so I can ask Pace, Teddy Bears, and GMC "Watcha gonna do now"?
My allegiance to all things Bears has developed a slow leak and I may choose not to patch it. As long as the McCaskeys feel they can continue to run their team into the shit for grass SF turf they can do it without one more long time fan. I've had it.

I am going to do just like you, Soul, and see what they do in the off-season. It is a hyper-emotional year for everyone. I am thankful that the people on this messageboard are pretty patient with one another as we go through this painful season. Sometimes some good can come out of a bad experience. Who knows, maybe we will see a much much better season next year. I admire how the Cubs fans stuck it out. We can too.
