How about option 3. A competitive team that appears to be on the right track with solid coaching and player development that is evident in the ability to beat teams they should and their hanging with teams they shouldn't be hanging with...Personally I'm not on board with giving up meaningless wins and being the Browns. That is unless you think the Browns are actually doing it right...all those early picks are sure panning out for them. Playing to win has teaching value as well, I thought this is why Fox was brought in? To change the losing culture?
There are a lot of players on this team who will be on the team you want to see competitive in a year or two, so building a culture of winners is just as, if not more important than picking 3-4 spots higher in April. When you dont have a winning culture, it's one of the hardest things to try and get back
Just ask the Cleveland Browns or the Edmonton Oilers

No such thing as a meaningless win?
Are we really pretending that the top 5 pick isn't as great as some here think?
Wentz - Looking like a franchise QB Bosa - Best Pass Rusher of the draft Ramsey - Best CB of the draft Elliott - Fastest RB in the draft Goff - Hasn't played a down yet
You telling me you rather have Floyd than one of these players?

A player's value doesn't come 8 weeks into the regular season.
Ahh yes, another classic bait and switch. Let's examine the argument.
First a false dichotomy is presented with the two options as the only options.
Second, when a third option is presented, ignore it and change the direction of the thread, propping up an argument that no one is making in order to deflect attention from your argument
Third, suddenly change your mind about various players in order to continue to support an argument you are only making because your orginal argument suddenly has holes in it. If I recall correctly none of the players you mentioned were worth drafting high so you don 't get to claim those. Bosa according to you was going to be a bust. EE wasn't worth a first round pick. You had Hargroves rated higher than Ramsey but didn't want to draft either on of those. Your mantra was trade up for Buckner or trade down. So unless you are willing to admit you were wrong about all those guys, you can't use them in your argument as 'proof.'
Good thing for you the other board shut down isn't it. When you are ready to be intellectually honest in your discussions let us know.
I'm actually surprised MOTM wants a top pick since he has no faith in Pace making good first round picks.
Regardless of my joke, as much as I wanted to have a top pick I prefer watching a competitive team. I want to have fun watching games. I want to see players improve. I want to see the team build towards being a better team next year. I don't think you build much confidence when you are tanking a season. I want to see players perform well and get excited to be part of this team next year.
I know this team has like a 1% chance to make the playoffs but they are 2-1 in the division. That sounds a hell of a lot better than there overall 2-6 record. What if somehow the Bears managed to have the best division record?

I admit EE has speed. Never said he didn't. I did say however that EE wasn't worth a first round for the simple fact that its easy to find good RBs. Was I proven wrong? No
Howard is already proving me right.
I never had Hargroves rated higher than Ramesy. I had him rated higher than Floyd. I always liked Ramsey and felt he was the best CB in the class.
