I agree with that as well yet some here think Teddy has no control over the field or football operations.
How many failures is this team going to have until we get rid of the problem?
We had 4 GMs and HCs come and go and the problem still remains.
Well they need to start with the on-field problem first lol
Cutler isn't a major problem seqq and tonight should have proven that to a lot of people.
And Shannon Sharpe, or the mouth from the South we call him out here, has never been shy about criticizing anyone if it meant he got a mic shoved in front of his face. John Elway made him into and All Pro which he never was without him and Sharpe even hung Elway out to dry more than once when he wasn't getting the ball enough.
Sharpe and Marty Bennett are twin sons of different mothers when it comes to put downs. They're two of the biggest "ME" guys you will ever find so you may slide this by a few who don't know Sharpe like I do but not me brother. I know this guy.
I'd be fine with letting Pace have one more opportunity to get a good coach before we fire Pace though. But he needs to get it right this time.
And once again it's leaking out that Pace had another prospect in mind for HC but that Fox ended up being tabbed to offset his inexperience. I hypothesized on this once before and some thought I was nuts or some kind of a conspiracy nut but too much has happened to make me think that Pace did a "go along to get along" deal in order to secure the job.
No one could have predicted it then but right now I see the hands of John Fox all over a number of personnel decisions that have not panned out well. To me the biggest indication of this was passing on a young QB prospect like Dak Prescott who would have been a great fit to apprentice behind Cutler in order to draft two backup DBs one of whom has been inactive almost every game and may not even make the 2017 roster.
Keep in mind that Pace said he was anxious to draft a QB each year yet in two consecutive years he's passed on doing that when certainly this year Prescott was there for the taking right where he was ranked. It's inconceivable to me that all three guys we took ranked higher than a talented mobile QB with an NFL arm. You can add to that the only one whose every answered for this is Fox and he tossed it off with his usual bs. But Pace has never commented on it which tells me something about a disagreement.
Keep in mind a GM will try to give his HC who he asks for when he can so poor personnel decisions are not always 100% on him. I'll toss in JA's decision to trade Olsen because Martz didn't want him and wouldn't throw to him as a classic example. JA may get the bulk of the blame but it was his OCs personnel decision. I see much the same here in some cases. Fox is a master manipulator so to think he hasn't played that game with Pace is like believing Trumpy when he says he never played grab ass (or grab pussy) with any of those women. To use his own quote....."I don't think so". LOLOL
Might be, but he's not THE problem w/this team. It's people w/in HH like Swetty Teddy Phillips that really need to be changed.
Oh but he is a big part of the problem and we all saw that tonight for the first time when the offense played a very un-Fox-like more adventurous game . Cutler made throws tonight Hoyer could only dream of and then only if it was a "wet dream".
Ric the facts keep tripping you up brother. I don't know what you saw or have been seeing but it sure as hell is the polar opposite of what I have. For the first time this year that offense played with confidence knowing the could win and they did. That was Fox NOT controlling or micro managing the damn thing.
So much for them being more comfortable with Hoyer than Cutler. He played as well as he has in awhile because he had a running game and decent protection and he's capable of playing like that all the time once the cuffs come off and they give him an offense he can operate within his strengths. I didn't see any lack of leadership either. He owned it tonight.
Really what throws did he make that Hoyer cannot? Sorry this was not a huge deep throwing attack. His biggest yards came screen to Howard. He made one pass to Jeffery of 30 yards. I'd agree w/you if they were constantly going deep, but they didn't. Some of Cutlers best passes were very Hoyer like in timing and distance. Hoyer isn't great but it wasn't like they were bombing it. You're acting like Hoyer did nothing but dump offs and Cutler was chucking 50 yard bombs.
Cutler had a good game, but it wasn't great, he per usual put the ball in danger at times, last night getting lucky enough that there wasn't a pick 6 on that bad throw to Jeffery on 3rd down.
He did. I have seen zero credible evidence to the contrary. Have you, MOTM? I sure haven't.
So far I haven't heard anyone say that Fox was his hire. Everything I've heard and read states that Fox was not hired by Pace. I know many here don't find it credible but everyone that I've heard report about the Bears on the Score say he wasn't a Pace hire.
If Pace is letting others pick his coaches and/or players then he is a fool. I don't think he is a fool though. I think he is 100% trusted as GM and has the keys to the car. I think he was "all in" on Fox.
But the bottom-line is that none of us know what went on behind closed doors. So the "Conspiracy Theories" are not facts except in the minds of people who want to believe anything.

YES!! Sanity reigns if even for just a few posts....

+1 One other thing that amazes me. The people amaze me, who take "rumors" that sports media people put out there as fact. Sometimes these rumors are true. Often they are not. I like to just take things at face value until I see evidence to the contrary. I'm just not into the conspiracy theory stuff. But LOL it makes me pretty boring. Maybe space aliens have - in fact - performed a brain implant of Ted Philips and the extra-terrestrials are choosing our coaches and players from their home planet, many light years from earth (or maybe Putin is behind it all). Or it could be Hilary Clinton's alien love child (see the "official photo" below).
Me?
I would rather believe the Bears General Manager is, you know, (*gasp*) being the GM. LOL, Who knew?
Well they need to start with the on-field problem first lol

Last nights game should have proved that?...Cutler was 2-3 plays away from the other Jay with his bad accuracy like usual, but that will probably get passed by cus his thumb wasn't healed all the way or some bullshit like that lol....the team overall played good football last night, and YES Jay didn't mess it up....but give it time.
And it's not about Sharpe, it's about the message. You can't possibly be implying that Sharpe is the only person to hold that kind of view towards Jay or another Qb in general...
My new conspiracy theory is that...its Long and Sitton that are killing the OFF. First game with both of them out and the OL plays better than ever against the #1 ranked DEF. Just by watching the TV broadcast anyone can tell that the difference today was not playing Long and Sitton. In a production based game, that means Long and Sitton don't get their starting spots back right? Am I right? Right? All about the production we were told, all about the production. Team just looked better on TV without them.
If bleacherreport counts as a legitimate source, than can I use profootballweekly?
Sources tell Pro Football Weekly that the Bears have not brought in a consultant to oversee football operations, as NFL Network reported on Monday.
Per the report, the front office had tapped “an outside consultant” to help figure out what has gone wrong with the 1-6 team.
However, any “consultants” would be working with the organization from a business perspective, not focused on personnel, coaches or players.
John Fox responded to a question about the report on Monday night, saying it is inaccurate.
"There's a lot of reports. I've dealt with reports for some time now," he said. "When you're 1-6, that's what you expect. I think that's part of the business. This is a tough profession, or it can be. But everyone is compensated well, we all sign up for it and we get it.
"But I can tell you there is no truth to that report. This is as unified of an organization and a football team that I've ever been associated with. The National Enquirer has a lot of reports, too."
You cannot evaluate a gm in two years if all you have to go on is his draft record. The bears are much younger and have more depth compared to Emery's team.
That might be true, unfortunately this team has yet to prove that it’s better and more skilled than back in the Emery/Trestman days.
