The offensive line needs to get better for us to have a good season. At times they did well. But Massie got schooled today in pass protection. Granted, the OL was facing a great defense. But the OL seemed to me to be the weak link that limited what we could do on offense.
You're asking an OL to do WAY to much against that OL when they haven't played a single game together.
That front 7 might well average 4 to 5 sacks per game if Clowney has figured it out.

Any comments I make now will be emotional heat of the moment, I'm going to rewatch the game later and look for play calling, DEF fronts both for and against, and routes.
I think the game today shows the reality that the Bears are not good enough to win games that are winnable. Yet many posters/media are already saying that the Bears hung in there against a good team. This is far far far from the truth. Texans didn't have it today and still got a win where they didn't have to sweat the result. 10-6 looks like a pipe-dream, and 8-8 looks like a long shot.

Houston D may as well be one of the best in NFL, BUT why can't we say Massie sucked big time? Not many play good agains that D... ok, but Bobby still sucked

I'm not condemning the OL. Just saying the OL sometimes blocked well, but often didn't provide the O the blocking needed to do much today. I'm not piling on them. Just saying they couldn't get it done today. I do expect them to get better... I think it is reasonable to believe they will.
I'm usually the one to over-react after a loss. I usually make an ass out of myself for about 48 hours with doomsday posts and generally being a pain. But you know, I came away from this game feeling good about the 2016 team. The team needs to get better, but somehow I feel like this is a team that CAN get better. It's very young. There are a lot of new players too. Maybe I'm being a homer here, but I thought I could see glimpses of some good talent today.
I usually rant about the OL in particular, and they did disappoint me today. But I think the OL will get better too... and be at least reasonably serviceable for us.
LOL, I'm not even on the ledge over this one. We'll get better. Soon too.
I don't know how this poll doesn't have the OL on it. This is the worst deflated ball poll I've ever seen. Cutler gets sacked 5 times, gets hit at least 10 more and is rushed almost every play and the OL isn't being gifted the deflated ball.
More specifically, Bobbie Massie, Cody Whitehair and Charles Leno. They took their turns sucking nuts, but they all had a pair in their mouths and one point or another.

I think Leno was equally abused on the left side but thank you for pointing a finger directly at Massie.
Terrible, predictable play calling. And way too conservative.
Can we EVER have a coach that doesn't consistently get schooled on game day???
This! We never f'ing change. Every coach is the same come game day. They put their head up their tail, go conservative, then give the fans lip service how much we've improved and have a few things to fix. We go 500 +/-, don't make the playoffs and we wait and wait and wait.

They played one the best D lines in the league we knew this wasn't a great O line. The problem is game planning against D line like this you have to know your shitt when planning against a D like Houston. I heard Loggains still hasn't seen the game because he couldn't see over the booth table in the press box so Cutler filling him in how the game went on the plane. The good news for Loggains is he gets to pay the kids fare on the flight home.

I don't disagree with the notion that we knew this was going to be a hard match for the OL BUT it doesn't change the fact that they got eaten alive AND that they were, in my opinion, the key contributing factor to why we lost the game.
Just because it's expected and then it happens doesn't mean it's not a problem.
One player I didn't expect to be eaten alive was Leno and he looked pretty bad against Clowney. Pretty miserable.
