One reason why Langford's ypc was low was due to some really foolish play calls. He made a couple of very nice runs but instead of mixing some passes in with the running plays Loggains would go right back to the same or a similar run call to the opposite side. When you gash a defense for long run you know they're gonna be waiting for it again and they were.
I agree that we over used Langford. When we should have been challenging them between the OTs with Howard and Carey in the second half to wear them down Loggains kept running Langford outside so there was nothing happening up the gut to even try running play fakes off to slow the rush.
The other major blunder IMHO was not throwing more to AJ downfield early in the second half after seeing how vulnerable the Houston CBs were. Plus a deep post or go route are probably the two routes KW can run without screwing up but we never ran them. When we should have been throwing on 1st down we didn't and by ignoring that we allowed Houston to stack the box and shorter routes and it stalled the offense out.
If Fox keeps reining in the offense like that all year we're gonna lose a lot more games like this one just like we did last year. The defense played a decent game but when you lose the TOP battle as badly as we did you aren't gonna win many games. So basically I think the scheming and play calling was way too conservative and needs to be changed to a more open game plan.

It was one of the reasons I really didn't want him to be the HC, I would have preferred Gase or another O minded HC hired and bring in a quality DC.

Wow! Learned a lot today. 1. I now completely understand why Elway fired Fox. He doesn't even challenge for his teams sake on 3 legit challenges he doesn't and does one wasted challenge only because he's calling a time out. I figured until that challenge he was using the red flag as a tampon because he was a legit pussy for not backing up his team when they needed him to be real coach. He can build a team with attitude he just can't coach them on game day.
2. Gase, oh Gase please come back I don't want this fukkking midget he could never be a real OC now has to be the Bears OC. No creativity in his play calling not trick plays just plays like moving the pocket or simple quick curl routes when you only need 2 yards for 1st down.
3. Team has couple weak spots but they played well with shit coaching decisions by HC & OC taking major shits.
4. One good coach and he's going bye bye very soon Vic is a real DC.
5. 8-8 very possible barring major injury to the key guys we all know.

Agree, Soul. I mentioned those things in the chat room earlier.
White is all but all but useless right now for anything but running fast in a straight line plus Jeffery was burning them so why thy hell did we not throw deep a few more times before the protection collapsed?
Terrible, predictable play calling. And way too conservative.
Can we EVER have a coach that doesn't consistently get schooled on game day???

Fox is Lovie 2.0 and that isn't a way for long term winning, which is why Elway moved on from him.
Sadly Gase isn't coming back, the Bears need to find a good long term option at OC that can build and create a O scheme that can score 24 ppg on average.
Team has more then a few weakspots but they do look better then the last few years.
If Vic is looking for a HC job, the Bears should look to promote him and move on from Fox asap.
I never saw a better option then 8-8. Didn't understand the 10-6 talk from the get go.

Bears had one, he's the new HC in Miami. He should have been the HC hire for the Bears.

I agree completely, he is a better Lovie making him Lovie 2.0 all the way.
Gase thing yes I know and knew it last year it was going to happen before it happened.
I'll take the Vic thing in a fukking heartbeat but Pace only has the balls to fire career Bear players not hand picked coaches.
We're Chi-fans we live in the world of hope and denial.
The offensive line needs to get better for us to have a good season. At times they did well. But Massie got schooled today in pass protection. Granted, the OL was facing a great defense. But the OL seemed to me to be the weak link that limited what we could do on offense.
