Again, why cut Shaw? The man had a much higher upside compared to Sanchez. I'm not saying Shaw will be our #1 QB but if he can make a great backup...
His ceiling is backup, and not great. Ge is literally replaceable. Sanchez isnt here for his ceiling he is here to he an added voice around the other qbs and help bring along trubs like he did with dak.
Yep. Butt Fumble got a knee owie and is out 'til camp. Our hero has new life.
Geez at least Cutler waited 'til the regular season to get hurt. Sanchez can't even make it through non-contact OTAs without an injury. Can't wait to see what this omen means. Good thing NU Med Ctr. is a team sponsor. We probably get a discount on Xrays and MRIs.
QB Connor Shaw is still a Chicago Bear by Chris Kwiecinski
Tuesday morning, it was announced quarterback Connor Shaw was being waived from the Bears roster.
Then again, maybe not.
It was reported Tuesday evening Shaw wasn't waived after all, and that he would remain on the team through OTAs.
#Bears announced this morning they were waiving QB Connor Shaw. They did NOT and he remains on 90-man roster.

In Shaw's place, the Bears waived undrafted rookie wide out Jhajuan Seales.
#Bears did place WR Jhajuan Seales, an undrafted rookie free agent, on waivers

Later, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported backup quarterback Mark Sanchez had suffered a knee injury during one of the Bears' OTA sessions.
There was no official word by Bears coaches for Sanchez's injury, and Rapoport seems to be the first with the news.
#Bears QB Mark Sanchez suffered an injury to his knee, source said. Not thought to be major. That's why Connor Shaw wasn't officially waived

#Bears announced Connor Shaw was waived earlier. Just rescinded the waiver, likely until Mark Sanchez's injury heals. Shaw will get OTA reps

According to the Chicago Tribune's Dan Wiederer, Sanchez will most likely be out for the rest of the Bears' OTAs and mini-camp sessions.
However, he should be fine come training camp.
Bears QB Mark Sanchez suffered a left knee injury today. Out for the rest of OTAs and mini-camp. Expected back for training camp.

As confusing as it may sound, it seems the Bears fully intended to waive Shaw. However, after Sanchez was injured, they rescinded the waiving to keep him around just in case.
If you think this entire situation is strange, imagine how Shaw feels.

Sanchezs' ceiling is also his floor.
And? Again thats not why he is here. They have 2 qbs with ceilings they are interested in...specifically trubs. Sanchez is here to bring him along so sanchez ceiling floor is a non issue.

I wish Pace would share this stuff with me like he does with you.

He's shared it w/everyone; you just refuse to listen, they've spoken about how much Sanchez was able to help Dak last year.

Then what's the purpose of a QB coach? If butt fumble is to be used as a coach it wastes the roster spot for an actual QB. I'm not saying Shaw is our savior but he could be trade bait.

QB coach is limited in time in the offseason, and in the qb room, where he's going to be dealing w/mostly the starting qb. Again go back and think about what Orton said about how much Griese helped him; think back again to just this past year in how much Dak has said Sanchez helped him.
Shaw has no trade value, he's not that good of a qb. Backup quality qb's are a dime a dozen.

I get it, but when you are doing such an important thing, developing a franchise qb, you need all the help you can get, players around him, OLine, Glennon, Sanchez, coaches... And it is all worth it
