Romo is heads and tails better then Cutler. For the VAST majority of his career he had a WORSE OL, at best the same quality OL as the Bears. And saved them b/c of his ability to avoid pressure.
As old and broken as he is now he's probably not much better but still better. Cutler is bad he doesn't help his OL and he doesn't help his WR's.

Guess we've found just one more issue to disagree on. What else is new? LOL
Patience Ric. You may get your wish.....or.....you may not.
Unless they are hoping for a Kurt warner type resurrection, Romo and his 'I've played 5 games in 2 seasons' bad back is a bad risk. His contract numbers aren't great and for a city that screamed over Cutler contract, a 25,000,000 cap number for next season (16,000,000 in dead money but I hope they wouldn't cut him the same season they traded for him) puts some of those big FA plans on pause. Let's not chase a big name just to chase a big name.

It's not only about chasing a Name or whatever. This is about getting a QB that gives Fox the best Chance to Keep his Job. If he has that much control, Teddy Bear will tell Pace to get him as stopgap
It met my expectations. I think Pace and Fox both presented their case with conviction, both sounded authentic, both acknowledged the shitty season and offered reasons as well as responsibility for it. I thought it was a good press conference and the end result it the expected result. Pace and Fox have another year to turn this thing around.
Pace heaped a ton of responsibility on his own shoulders about getting it right in the personnel department AND having the ability to do that this offseason with a lot of cap room and high draft picks. I think that was the right move.
I think this team has a talent gap that was compounded by the injury situation that resulted in a lack of chemistry between players in many phases of the game and thus losses. I think they explained that well without shirking their own responsibilities.
I imagine 2017 will be better. They might suffer a string of tough injuries again - they might suffer shitty QB play, but they are more experienced in dealing with both of those things and the roster will be better.
Either they held more than one presser and we watched different ones or i missed the parts where Fox took responsibility. Admitedly I missed the first 10-15 minutes, but what I saw was Pace taking responsibility and Fox never going there. Almost seemed to be avoiding it and always blamed injuries and availability. Did anyone else see Fox take responsibility, or am I that subjective. I really try to be balanced and I just didn't see that.
Fox rarely spoke and was rarely asked questions. He gave his statement within the first 10 minutes of the presser.

Some of that cap is due to a contract restructure so it may fall on Dallas if it's unamortized cap and not cash in those years and I believe it is. If so that means that Dallas will have to eat it if they trade him and since JJ loves the guy maybe that happens and maybe it doesn't.
His salary is a crazy amount for a backup to Prescott but in this case when the starter is so cheap Romo remains affordable. If Dallas is looking to make several SB runs now having a vet like Romo to come in if Prescott is hurt or fails is not beyond something JJ would think of doing IMHO.
But at any rate his cost in salary is roughly the same as Cutlers in 2017 and higher thereafter so if we want continuity and Cutler knows the offense better than Romo why would getting rid of him for Romo make any sense. I can't see it so in any event so I don't really care what Dallas decides to do.

Ha ha well if Pace can be led on a leash to give up a pick for Romo just to replace Cutler we truly are fucked. LOL

I agree with one part, but you should stop your narrativ that Cutler and Romo are equal. Cutler is done and we all should get used to him being gone.

Maybe and maybe not so you can also get used to it may not happen if better options fail to materialize. I don't count anything in or out right now. Only possibilities and probabilities.
I've also made it very clear that I have no problem with moving on at all. It's probably better for Jay than for us unless we somehow find a better one. But that's the sticker isn't it. We haven't yet and until we do and he's on the roster Jay Cutler is still the best QB we have on the roster now like it or not.
