They would have to be pretty thick not to have noticed all the empty seats but they've also become very thick skinned over the years because this has become almost an annual event.
A video thank you to their long suffering fans following an interview where Ginny said they're suffering right along with us is not my idea of a positive response from someone who still wants my business.
Still, they realize very few will ever give up their season tickets and whatever isn't sold that way the corporate partners buy up so the only way to impact the much is to simply not attend. It won't cost them all that much revenue but that WILL be embarrassing to them. That much I do know.
I'm sure they're all putting their heads together to day to write the speeches we'll here tomorrow and afterward by GMcC. We'll hear about the positive culture, the unfortunate break will all the injuries, and the pledge that we're only a few players away from a championship because what else can they say?
Like you I just hope the media nails them down and refuses to let Fox do his "Foxtrot", as one guy called it, dancing around the questions without giving an answer. I just plain old don't like the way the guy coaches or much of anything about his style and schemes. They're very antiquated.
It's just astonishing to witness the difference between Aaron Rodgers and ANY BEARS QB of the last decade.
He's accurate, scrambles for first downs, extends plays, has tremendous pocket awareness, rarely throws an ill-advised pass or INT, almost never fumbles even when pressured, repeatedly draws offside and 12-man penalties, nd simply finds ways to win.
The performance gap is enormous. Even Cutler, the best of the Bears bunch, is not even remotely close.
Remember when various posters actually posted that Hoyer was better than Rogers? Some people should have to have their posts approved by staff. And some people wonder why I'm cranky at times on the board.
In fairness, Rodgers wasn't playing quite to that level earlier in the year. Every season he seems to be "just ok" at times early-to-mid season but then just goes on a tear when the chips are down the last 6 weeks or so.
He carries his team, which beyond him is nothing special, into the playoffs year after year. The Packers seem to repeatedly be 3-4 or something like that and then somehow end up 11-5 and division champs yet again.

Unfortunately, the best way to beat the Packers is to injure Rogers.
Cousins is no better or worse then Cutler, that is just another wheel spinner which doesn't bring you closer to where you need to be.
I thought Cousins played pretty damn well this year, Ric, and that he was pretty good yesterday too. One of his INTs was because his receiver fell down and the other was a just a tough play (he had an open man but couldn't get enough on the ball being chased).
Cousins didnt really have much help yesterday IMO. The running game was AWOL and his pass pro sucked.
It's Rodgers 7th game in a row without an interception. Bears QBs can't go 7 quarters without at least 1 pick and a sack-fumble.
its a joke. We aren't in the same league and will be in or near the bottom of the division for years to come IMHO.
I don't know what's going to happen with the team from here on out. But this I do know. Job-1 for Ryan Pace is to solve the QB problem in Chicago. Yes, there are many very important things for Pace to fix on this team, but until the QB situation is fixed, none of the other stuff really matters. We will always be the guy bringing the knife to the gunfight - dead.
And posters/fans will wring their hands and whine about how it is "hard" to get a good QB. I get sick of that attitude. In professional sports it is never easy. Right? It's not easy drafting ANY position. Yes, drafting a good QB is difficult. But good QBs are being drafted. Why not us?
Why not us?
Again, in fairness, they don't grow on trees so it's not quite as simple as "just draft a good QB". Brady is the only other QB that's in Rodgers' league IMO. Even high quality starters like Roethlisberger, Ryan, Carr, Brees, and Eli aren't nearly as dominant as those two are.
Yesterday Rodgers won Green Bay the division practically by himself. He made amazing play after amazing play and totally out-smarted the Lions defense. The guy is far and away the best QB in the NFC.

Maybe, but I don't know that he is the guy I want to start the rebuild around, and if you are signing him to a 4 year deal(and someone will) that means you are pushing down drafting your real future down the road another 2-3 years at least.
I will say this. I'd take him over trading for a guy like Jimmy G who is going to cost you picks(multiple) and a long term deal to boot.

I doubt Cousins is going to reach FA but, if he does, hell yeah I'd sign him. He's coming into his prime (age 28) and has been ascending the last few seasons while Cutler has been stagnating or declining. Net of Cutler's cap savings, he'd be a bargain for a team with the cap space we have.
You can still draft a QB, just be a 4th-5th rounder instead of a 1st or 2nd. Remember the Redskins drafted him the same year thy gave up a boatload of picks to move up to #2 for RG3. Draft A guy who isn't near NFL ready and is going to need 2-3 years anyway. Shaw and the rookie can be the backups. We could have a solid starter and 2 young guys under development. Sounds good to me.

I agree. But I'm not saying we have to draft a Hall of Fame guy like Rodgers or Brady, although that would be mighty sweet. Good QBs are getting drafted. I would sure like to see us get one. Teams that can't draft are pretty much screwed. We need to be able to draft well. And that includes drafting a QB. At least that is how i see it. I totally agree it isn't easy - but building a championship NFL team isn't easy.

That is what i'm talking about. 4-5th is not good enough. Even if you sign him you still need to draft one by the 3rd round. You aren't normally going to get a guy like Dak or Brady in the 4 or later, you are far more likely to get a guy like fales, which you might as well not bother drafting at all.

Which just goes to show how stupid the comparison actually was. Given Rogers history and Hoyers history did anyone actually seriously think Hoyer would end up out playing Rogers? Again, anyone who made that claim or even believed it needs to seriously start trying to understand football.
