That being said most coaches in this league fail and often have short stays. High quality coaches are just not an easy thing to find. Even good ones get run out eventually.
+1 That's so true. I keep thinking of Dallas firing Tom Landry, Browns firing Bill Belichick & the Eagles firing Andy Reid. The 49ers fired Jim Harbaugh, the guy many Bears fans have coveted. Jimmy Johnson won back-to-back Super Bowls and Jerry Jones fired him a month or two after the last Super Bowl win... what a piece of work J.Jones is.
But your point is well taken. Hard to get a good one. If it were easy, then all 32 teams would have one.
I've had my concerns with Flus for awhile now. Said he was the thing I was most worried about going into this year. He always tracked as a JAG coach to me.

At this point all we can hope is that Flus somehow figures it out in time to salvage the season.

The McCaskeys have had 35 years to find one.
I also wonder if Chicago will be patient with one, even if they do hire a good one. I was thinking about the franchises who ride it out with their HC's through thick and thin (Steelers are probably the model for this). Bears fans are a polar opposite. They want everyone fired. I still can't believe some fans want Poles fired. Obviously there is a time for firing people. But you don't want to be like the Browns who fired a young Bill Belichick or the Eagles who fired Andy Reid. I know it's tough to discern these things and get it right.
