Starting to turn it around. Going to be a rough back half of the year, but imo if they fix the OL in the offseason he'll not just have this team fighting for the conference title, he'll have them ready to make a deep playoff run.
+1 Ric. Caleb and Eberflus are both looking solid. Eberflus struggled as a rookie HC (the tank & nuked roster season) and half of the next (2nd season). He's got the team performing well - better than most fans predicted this season (me included). The Bears are taking care of business against these weaker teams. How many times in the past, under previous Bears coaches, did we see the Bears NOT take care of business and often lose these games? Too many times.
Your point is well-taken, about the better talent and coaches doing better with better talent. Yes, the team has better talent now (infinitely better than the crap hole he walked into that tank year) - LOL, isn't that the goal here... to have solid talent? That is what a rebuild is supposed to do. Actually, you know, rebuild with better talent? Bears has done that, and will build further in 2025, and it's looking like the Bears have their QB1 and their HC in place now.
Did he make a mistake not challenging a call in the blowout win on Sunday? Sure. Coaches sometimes miss on these challenges. Yes, even guys like Belichick & Andy Reid... and every single HC in the NFL have whiffed on challenge calls. If anyone thinks otherwise, then they must not be watching much football.
One thing surprised me this season was Caleb giving Eberflus credit for helping him a lot with his game. I saw on the "Hard Knocks" preseason episodes how Flus was always working with Caleb and in the QB room - hands on to the max. The guy has helped Caleb Williams transition into what we are seeing now. Caleb said one of the things Flus has REALLY helped him with is teaching him how to be ready for what defenses are going to throw at him - so he can be prepared on gamedays.
I've been very critical of Eberflus (especially the first two games this year) but you are 100% right. Give credit when credit is due. But, let's watch how the team does against tougher competition this 2n half of the season. I saw one article that had the adjusted strength of schedule (adjusted as of this week) and the Bears are about to face the 2nd most difficult schedule in the NFL in these remaining games. The "experts" had the over/under at 8.5 wins for this season. I'm thinking Eberflus is going to get the over on that one... won't be easy, but I think he'll get it done. JMO.
Shane Waldron has improved a lot too. Love how Tim Jenkins says the NFL will be stealing some of the stuff Shane Waldron is showcasing this season. He also says his new favorite team to break down O film on now is the Chicago Bears. I never thought I'd live to see something like that here.

Some of you guys have an interesting one-dimensional way of analyzing football. I mean, the reason Kmet's numbers are good is because the Bears don't have any receivers or the QB can't get the ball to them.Instead, you just think you have one of the best TE's in the league.
I'll look at my team's shortcoming from every angle i can come up with. For Example: I've mentioned the Vikings have only scored 9 second half points in the last two games vs. GB and NY. Kinda disturbing because it was an issue last year as well. BUT, then i look again and guess what? we still won those two games and sittin pretty at 5-0. (those were 3 huge field goals) Definitely in the bonus because we have room for error.
Then comments floated around here over the weeks. You're not sure about the Vikings. You don't think they're that good. Sam Darnold is gonna suck pretty soon. LOL
It's like you're oblivious to what they've done so far 5 games into the season. Defeated the 49ers. Texans, Packers (which is a team the Bears have not beaten in a long time, mind you) Lowest point total given up. Plus doing all this while missing a starting TE and Receiver. TJ Hockinson's probably not ever gonna have multiple td's in a game very often. When you have Justin Jefferson to throw to.
No receivers? That is a shock to Moore, Allen and Odunze. Not to mention Poles
But, those guys aren't Justin Jefferson. They're not gonna make catches like this .

"Since 2020 TEs w/2 TD games. There are 4, Kmet is one of them. The most is 7 the minimum is 5(Kelce and Kmet each have 5)."
Name the TE on that list that hasn't been viewed as elite. Kittle, Andrews and Kelce are all seen as elite. If you can be mentioned in the same group of nothing but elite in the position you play, then you have a right to be called elite.
Nothing short sighted or single visioned about that. I'd also point out that of those 3, none had a worse qb situation in from 2020-2023 then Kmet. Feel free to argue.
Vikings are looking really good to great, happy for them, it's about time, they've been largely irrelevant my entire life. The Bears, as bad as they have been, at least have popped in and had a couple runs in that time.
Well, bein a football guy. The best receiving tight end i've ever seen would probably be Kellen Winslow. Assuming you don't know who he is.
I've Acknowledged that the Vikings are the Cubs of the NFL.
Maybe if Eberflus would like, you know, WATCH THE GAME, he would've seen that or even on the replay on the screen.
Sorry that being a HC is hard, but if Diane in Customer Service can multitask maybe the HC of the Bears could?
yes HC is hard, to expect someone to master it in 3 years, while rebuilding a trash roster and culture is even harder. congrats you've figured it out.
Do I need to watch football for 3 years to know that if the ball hits the ground when the receiver gets it that it doesn't count as a catch or is there maybe like a YouTube to learn that one?

LMK, I can send it to Eberflus.
I imagine you think Flus had the TV overhead view w/replay showing it over and over again. I like how you have to center on one issue a game as proof, as if every other HC never makes mistakes(yes plural). Flus had a ton of issues, hell I didn't even want him hired, but if you don't see enough improvement the issue is you.
and i'm still waiting on all the great coaches that did it w/out just oogles of talent
