Poles hasn't been shy about doing this the last 2 seasons so it wouldn't shock me if he does it again. If Cunningham gets a GM job, we will have 2-2nds & 2-3rds plus whatever Day 3 picks.
Edmunds has played well this year so I doubt he's going anywhere. He's also still young. Allen I definitely would trade if I could as he's over 30, is frequently hurt, and probably won't be here next season anyway. I think it's pretty clear that Allen was brought in as an insurance policy (Poles had no idea before the draft that a WR would fall to #9 -- we talked about that here endlessly). DJ Moore & Rome are the WR duo going forward--that's where the money and draft capital have been invested.
Allen should be here next year. We just need he and Williams to get on the same page by then. Edmunds is no more than an average NFL linebacker and getting overpaid on a $72M contract. I would trade him for a good guard in a heartbeat. By #4, I mean the 4th round pick. I would use 1-3 to draft an offensive line. Brax and Jenkins currently only Bears OL with 70+ pff grades. Brax has given up least sacks (0) and Wright the most (4).
Allen won't be here when DJ and Rome are looking good. You can't pay him 20+ million on top of DJ money and a rookie #9 overall pick. It will be hard trading Allen as he's an injury prone 32 year old WR. Only Super Bowl ready teams will trade for him and we won't get much for him.
Jenkins is injury prone and Brax is at best an average tackle. We must improve on "average".

The most likely outcome with Allen is that he will play out 2024 here and leave in FA next spring. Unless Odunze looks like a huge bust, I can't see Poles paying two vet WRs big money. And Rome isn't a bust--he is gonna be a really good #2 guy to Moore.
It also looks like to me that Jenkins is heading down the same path. He hasn't been that good this season so far and is hurt yet again. Hard for me to believe Poles will want to pay him unless he stays healthy and plays lights out the next 12 games. Remember Poles didn't draft Jenkins.
Bottom line is you are probably looking at least 2, and likely 3, new starters on the interior OL being needed going forward. That leads me to believe that Poles might make a mid-season move before the trade deadline if an opportunity presents itself. They are clearly done with Nate Davis as he's only willing to play RG and even then he isn't very good. That signing was definitely a whiff.

2025 is my Super Bowl ready year, and you’re not going to find a better slot receiver route runner in the draft, I want all 3 of these guys. Allen and Williams need to work out some kinks in the timing routes, if they don’t get that done, then it’s not worth the money. We can agree on that.

So pay a 33 year old 25-30 million? Instead of upgrading the line? Sorry but for a guy who has missed half his games this year in 5 games. We could use that money else ware.

There is no way we should pay Allen $25M. I can’t even begin to describe how bad that is.
Draft T and G. Pay a C.
I will admit to having my eye on Myles Garrett via trade for our second. I do want that and we should be able to absorb that cap hit and still fix the OL in the draft.
This would be a championship move, I'd love to see it. He'd be ours for the next 2 years as well and his cost is reasonable for his production. I'd be pretty darn surprised to see him moved, but Cleveland needs to admit that they need to blow their team up at this point so maybe...

Cleveland is another great example of a team that is heading nowhere and needs to rebuild. They are also saddled with that awful Watson contract they can't get out of until 2026 at the earliest.
Plus the organization is a dumpster fire of managerial ineptitude. I'd be making some call to them the next few weeks.

We would be locking in the best defense in the league for the next two years. If you can make a move like that you do it.
