I liked that Erik Kramer interview that Chuck posted in its own thread. I think he nailed it regarding Caleb Williams. He was very positive about Caleb but pointed out that he has a lot to learn before he will be good at this level. I think this is EXACTLY what is happening right now at the very early (extremely early) stage for CW. It's nothing to worry about... way too early for that. But we are not going to see a seamless "plug and play" at QB1 this year. That doesn't happen. Kramer mentioned that even Mahomes was not that guy day-1. And even with the C.J. Stroud hype, if you go back and look at his rookie play, he was not without some struggles last year himself. The team was able to compensate with his learning year and win some of those games.
Lol ... I was just posting the same thing on my thread about Kramer. But my thoughts were that Kramer was absolutely spot on with that. I don't want to call it a criticism. Because it is not. It is more an observation of an area where CW need to grow and adjust.
And having a top 10 defense on your own team who will take delight in showing the young man up is probably the best way to do it. Better in OTAs ad TC than in real games.
Hopefully CW's adjustment to NFL defenses is well on its way to completion by the time the regular season starts.
I believe that is the definition of the old phrase "Iron sharpens iron".
Thank God! Please make sure that there is none of that

I know some people would only prefer we only negative articles and never push back on them, but here is another one with players talking about the good they saw from Williams on Thursday. Obviously, we can reject what they are saying, because there can't be any positives coming out.

LOL, I see some people replying on that site who don't understand that it's a guy who puts up stuff he thinks is comedy.
He never even hit double digits
I read where one of the wild throws was so bad it hit a bystander and he lost an eye. President/CEO Kevin Warren issued a memo immediately following the day's practice, that in future practice sessions, when Caleb Williams is on the field, protective clothing is mandated to be worn by all spectators. Here's a photo of Chicago Tribune reporter Brad Biggs' outfit for the next OTA practice:
I've gotta believe that at the regular season games this year, we will see every Bears fan in the lower sections of Soldier Field will wear similar protective clothing when Caleb is on the field on offense. If I could afford tickets in that section, I'd sure be wearing that outfit too.
