Don't need to be a rocket scientist to know AH is better than the lakefront, but Warren doesn't see it that way and he is the one deciding. But he can't decide in a vacuum. AH or Chicago need to be on board with his funding and strategy so ultimately, he may not get his first choice. Only time will tell. Well, maybe a few posters on this site also that always seem to know what will happen.
You're missing the obvious - Warren does see it that way, but had everyone fooled that he's determined to build in the city, which caused the teachers union to buckle in AH, opening the path back up there.
It's called Negotiating and leverage.
He's got me fooled on account of he's going for it hard. At this point though, regardless of if he wants the lakefront, he will not have the tax dollars he wanted and may have to pivot back to getting serious about AH

He had us all fooled - but that's the point. If it wasn't believable, it wouldn't be an effective negotiating tool...
I get that vibe too. LOL, my gut feeling is that Kevin Warren graduated MSU with summa cum laude honors.
Warren is a president for an org owned by a group that won the, who we know lottery, but he still has to do what is in their best interest and go on their interests, not what he would do in a neutral situation. It's always made more sense for the Bears to have one of the largest stadiums in the NFL, location means 0. Drove through Chicago to get to Ohare, it's not like AH is on the Wisconsin boarder or 1hr our of Chicago proper, it's like 20mins from Downtown, w/Cubs traffic after a game let out.
W/the team already owning that huge property, it makes 100% sense for the team and the Mc's to build there, not rent a spot downtown and continue to deal w/a corrupt chicago govt and their parks disctrict agency and w/no room to actually build a giant stadium the teams fanbase can hold. It also makes sense to own said stadium to rent out for events and allow the owners to make revenue off that outside of the NFL season; + either selling or renting the other land for hotels, casino's, shops, apartments, business offices etc, or ideally a mix of both. They could likely raise a large portion of the required costs just by doing that.
Always seemed like a ploy to either get the city/state to build downtown to help generate income for the city(via concession revenue + events outside of Bears games) or, preferably, get AH and their tax hungry sycophants to buckle. Seems like one of those happened.

I've been thinking. If the Bears go to Arlingon Heights, the Park District won't be in charge of the field they play on.
What happens to all the Suh Traps? The natural advantage of playing on a terrible field is one of the thrills of watching. Will a roll of sod slide out from under a runner's foot like a throw rug? Why are there patches of dirt on an NFL field?
The Bears would have to play like a... modern NFL team.

I've heard that the reason why the Bears waited this long to build a modern state-of-the-art stadium like this, is due to the fact, Ndamukong Suh, finally retired. There is no longer a need for the Suh traps.
He's just saying there's not enough time to deal with the state legislature to get anything done this year. Next year will be the real story. But I do also think it will be in AH. Unless the McC's are dumb and stupid. Oh, wait...
