Exactly.  Sure, there will always be some people against anything.  But there are worse things that can end up on that property than high-end hotels, businesses and a nice state-of-the-art sports complex.  That 326 acres would be prime for a stinking pig farm or meat packing plant.  I think it was Chuck (or maybe another poster) who mentioned low-income housing apartments that would bring down the value of the properties in Arlington Heights... it's only 75k population and that property footprint would be the largest one in that village.... there are countless things that could be built there that would drop property values like a lead balloon.  

My saying is “Every politician’s highest priority is his next reelection.” I know that’s a bit cynical, but it’s also generally true.

Well, it will be hard to knock.
