Assuming 4 QBs go 1-4 leaving the Chargers with Harrison. Would you trade your picks to try to get the best prospect in the draft?
#5 overall pick has a value of 1700
#9 overall pick is valued at 1350
2025 picks for Bears:
First-round pick
Second-round pick
Second-round pick (via Panthers)
Third-round pick
Fourth-round pick
Fifth-round pick
Sixth-round pick
Sixth-round pick (via Dolphins)
Sixth-round pick (via Steelers, can turn into fourth-round pick)
I be ok with trading one of our 2nd rounders and 6th round picks to get Harrison Jr. The one reason I bring this up. I think this might be the last year in a while that we are in the top 10. I see us around the late teens to early 20's next year picking.

Depends on how Williams plays, but I agree that I don't expect to be in the top 10 next year. That would be bad after all the moves this year.

With the upgrades we have on offense. New WR and new RB. A chance of getting another good WR at #9 or trading up to get him. Also the fact we have the 4th easiest schedule in the NFL. I expect a wildcard team from Williams. At least 3k passing yards.
Just like I'm hard on Fields. I'm going to be hard on Williams. Heck Williams has better weapons than Fields. But I figure I ask this question since this might be the last time this franchise is in the top 10 which is a good thing. Do you want a Hall of Fame in the making WR in Harrison Jr? The more I think about it. The more I'm willing to move up and get him if he drops to #5. Which happens to be Harbaugh who isn't known for having big name WR's make plays for them. He's more of a running back and TE kind of guy.

I would LOVE to have him, but I don't think there is that much talent difference between him and Nabers - and a case can be made that Nabers is actually the better WR of the two. And Odunze (to me) looks like a fantastic fit for Caleb/Bears with an elite WR projection too. Will MHJ be that much better once he is in the NFL? It will be fascinating to revisit this in 3 years. He may not end up being the best of the 3 taken in this draft class... LOL, I realize that is blasphemy with the MJH hype-train. He is an amazing talent but I just can't see trading up for him when one of the two other great/elite prospects may fall to us at #9. And if by some chance Alt would drop to us at 9 I think I'm taking him instead of one of the top-3 receivers. Maybe... it's a tough call and I do change my mind on this almost daily.

The problem is twofold. First, he may not even be there at 5. Second, (if he is) you pass on him thinking one of the others MAY be there at 9. I just sit back and watch. We don't know how it will fall, and it never falls like how you think it will

I don't disagree with that at all. It's like Poles is riding the scariest ride at the theme park (I'm a chicken on those roller coasters).

For me, I think this is a year in which we don't sit back and wait. This assuming we're good and is going to be the last time we draft in the top 10. If you don't want Harrison Jr and rather have Rome or Nabers. I'm cool with that. All 3 are talented WRs. Harrison has the best floor, Nabers has the best ceiling out of the 3 imo.
None of the defensive players are worth a top 10 pick this year. None are blue chip players. Maybe solid starters but I want a top 5 - top 10 player at his position. Sweat was better than any of the projected prospects this year and he's not even a top 10 pass rusher.

No, I didn't say I didn't want MHJ or Nabors. I'd love to have one of them. And your idea of trading up THIS year when we don't have to move up very much has a lot of merit to it. Plus, I agree with how you think it will go down. Pretty much agree with all you said

I'm just hoping the Bears pull a Texan move and trade back up to get their guy rather than hoping he falls to them. Having two top 10 picks this year. You need two super star players.

We need several expensive players WR, DT, DE and depending on how the line plays, possibly OT and C. I know some are advocating for OT and C now but I consider OT to be an upgrade position and C might be in the same category depending on how Poles coveted C plays. That’s why I have put those lower. We are functional there, but we have no push on D and will only have one Wr again after this year
