I would absolutely LOVE to see this guy drafted by the Bears. I think he would be a fantastic fit for this offense and Caleb in particular. If Keenan Allen is only a 1-year deal then we need a stud WR in this draft. JMO.

Yeah. It's possible. If 4 QBs are picked. Then I assume the that two WRs will go. That means 6 picks are down. So out of the 3 high value positions, (LT, WR and Edge), one would be there for us. Odunze would be the third best WR and it would be the top guy at the other positions. If 3 QBs are picked (very possible), then they could be gone by the very previous pick.

But where are you if Odunze,Alt,Nabers are gone? I thought you were in the “max support for Williams”camp, but now you have flipped over to possibly drafting DL at #9. Screw it. If you’re doing that, I might go back to Johnny Newton.

+1 There are a lot of years that Odunze would be the #1 wide receiver of the draft. It just so happens that in this one he is considered #3 by most people. I actually think he would be a better fit for the Bears offense than Nabers, but that's just my take on it.

+1 You're right, I have flipped on this. I would want WR first. But if the cupboard is empty then I would be open to taking an elite DL guy. We should be a much better team this year which translates to lower part of the 1st round pick for the next several years (at least I think that's what's going to happen). This is one reason why I don't want to trade down that #9 pick this year. We won't get a sniff of a pick that high again for a long long time. So I figure we'd better get the best blue chip player we possibly can - don't even THINK about dealing it away. Get a stud. Get one of those elite WRs in this draft, or get a blue chip DL guy. I'd be fine with an All-Pro level elite LT too. That would be a cornerstone building block for the OL for the next decade or so. That's not a slam on Brax, but just accepting that Braxton Jones' ceiling is not going to be anywhere as high as Alt. And I value the LT position enough to go with a young future All Pro there. Brax is never going to be THAT guy.

Do the math. If Vikings trade up #11 for McCarthy, only 3 QBs go ahead of the Bears. That leaves 5 spots for 3WRs, Alt, and whatever “blue” edge guy you want (Turner?) are ALL gone before #9. Is the next DL on your big board better than Powers-Johnson? Really? I see him as a perineal Pro Bowl center and Bates as a backup. Plus, you get another pick in the second round for a good WR. To me, that’s better than drafting your #2 DL on your big board. As you used to say, that can wait til next year’s draft or FA. This is the “max QB support” year.

My problem, David, is that I want 'em all. I am that kid in the candy store right now. I like this one, that one... then another one catches my eye. I'm laughing because I was JUST like that as a little boy buying penny-candy at this tiny little neighborhood grocery in town
But getting serious for a minute, yes I would LOVE to draft JPJ. I just feel like a #9 for him is a bit too rich. Not much, but just a bit. I could see a trade down in that 1 particular instance because I do believe he is going to be an elite blue chip guy too. But he is a blue chipper that could be drafted in a small trade down situation. LOL, but then, what if some team does jump on him before our trade down pick?
