How are you feeling about the Bears team at this point?

Yeah, I 100% agree.  In fact both D and Olines need some more love.  I'm not so much worried, but yes, the Bears need to address both lines.  And realisticly it will b addressed to some extent this year (both O and Dlines) but it will take 2025 to complete the rebuild here.  Poles says he wants a playoff team this year, 2024.  I am thinking 2025 (after the additions to the roster that year) should result in a strong contender that can win the NFCN.  And 2026 would be the Super Bowl year and not before.  This year so reminds me of the years just preceding the 1985 Super Bowl team.  Those were the years the SB team was built - magic didn't happen from nothing in that 1985 season.  It began a few years prior.  So many people (Bears fans in particular) did not believe in the Bears then.  Even in the first few games of that 1985 season, there were still a number of people who were just waiting for the team to fail (believing they were pretenders and not legit).  Sure.  A lot of Bears fans were on the bandwagon as early as 1984 (like we see some Bears fans on board now).  Then as the '85 season progressed the doubting Bears fans started clawing their way up onto the bandwagon - and the national sports media began believing too and the Chicago Bears were the darlings of the NFL world.

It all began, very much like what we see now in 2024.  It's not a perfect comparison.  But the guts of that team were built, just as the guts of our Super Bowl winning team is being built right now.  Building a great team is a multi-year project.  Enjoy this.  I know I sure did those early years in the 1980's.  And I will never, as long as I live and breathe, forget the resulting 1985 year.  It was the pinnacle of my sports fan life.

You could be right.  I just hope the Bears upgrade both lines.  They shouldn't be finished with either of those units yet.

I still just don't see sustained success with a defensive HC. Sorry but the turnstile on the offensive side will be like starting over every few years. If they are good on offense which I think is probable, Waldron will get a HC job, now we have to learn a new offense and hope we get the next Waldron and not the next Nagy. In the end it won't matter, we will either fire the OC if team fails on offense or he will get a HC job if successful. The turnstile will just keep turning every few years thus i believe this will hinder the growth.

Everyone thought Belichick was GOAT, yet after Brady left he looked much like the coach who got fired in Cleveland and the turnstile kept Turning.
