How are you feeling about the Bears team at this point?

I agree totally that he has to prove himself.  And I don't believe he will be the best in the NFCN the first year.  Maybe, but probably not.  He could very well be a bust.  I've said countless times that I don't believe in sure thing players, no matter how high they are drafted.  And I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about being okay if the new guy takes a year or two to get there -- just as long as he does pan out as good.

What I do feel pretty good about is that this guy sure looks the part of an elite passer.  The more I watch him the more he looks special.  I've never seen a QB passing with both hands like he did at his pro day.  He is right handed, but he threw some very nice passes left handed.  LOL, I don't know that means anything other than I was a bit shazaamed by it :-)

As an athlete he looks so smooth with his passes.  He makes it look so fluid and effortless as he hits his passes.  I liked what he said in the interview after his Pro Day.  He said he wants to be a passer not a runner.  He wants to get the ball to others to make plays - not himself.  It was a good answer I thought.  He is bright enough to say the right things.  Let's see if he can actually do these things for us.  I've watched a lot of the other QBs in this draft and I really have TRIED to like them as much as Caleb.  But he really is on a talent-tier by himself.  I can't deny that.  Now that Fields is gone, I hope the Bears don't trade away that #1 pick and settle for a lessor QB.  Spend this one on Caleb.    

Ric, I strongly agree.  I'm beginning to think a lot of people have lost their minds with the Chicken Little stuff.  I just don't get the negativity.  Thankfully, it looks like folks here on our messageboard are more astute fans.  The poll looks line everyone here is at least cautiously optimistic.  I do like that.   

I've come to believe that this trait (quick processing mind) is what is behind the "it factor" in elite quarterbacks.  It's not the arm strength (we've seen a ton of those guys fail) or the other traits that ARE important, but not THE most important quality in a franchise QB.  It's that elite mental CPU that can instantly process what is happening on plays and react with rock solid decisions with the ball.  It's the brain factor.

There was a video clip on twitter that showed C.Will throwing a ball around to he college receivers with his left hand. You can tell he practices doing that. Not bad tosses either.
