Yes, my daughter and her husband, live in a small town outside of St. Louis. So we get down there often to visit. And usually when we visit my daughter we do go into the city for fun stuff. bearsinhouston lives in Houston (at least I think he does) and we visit my son and his wife there a few times a year. Maybe some day I can meet up with BIH there.
Yes, northern Houston. I was in St. Louis over the holidays. Supposed to be the most crime ridden city in the country, but I never saw it. Guess it depends on where you go. I never went to the city proper.
Actually, East St. Louis is what to avoid. It is like South side of Chicago. Don’t go there, especially after dark.
I missed that. I would do the deal, but for something less than $51M. We lived in Portland 1981-97. The place has gone downhill since we left. My sister is in St. Louis. Do you ever go there?
Since my trip I have the travel bug and Portland is quite cheap to fly to. I gotta say I have been thinking of checking it out.
They now have a tent city on the east side down 205 to rival LA. Over 6,000 homeless at last count. Careful where you park your car, if you want to keep it. We are so happy to be out of there. I suggest you drive over to the coast. It’s beautiful, and enjoy fresh seafood.

They decriminalized drugs. Lots of methed up people or on H or both especially in East Portland.

It’s a huge problem, and the associated crime, homeless people etc.
I lived on West side but commuted to Clackamas area to work. Back in 1990, you could drive across the city in 45 minutes. God knows how long it would take today in rush hour. The traffic congestion in Portland has become horrendous.

I am not much of a seafood type of guy, especially if it's not me with the mouthful showing it off but that is what I wanna see. The coastal region.

If you like fishing, there is great salmon fishing, or charter boats if you want to try ocean fishing. We did hiking and backpacking into the forest, too. Flying kites on the beach is popular in Seaside, but we never tried it.
Joe Alt is the closest thing the Bears would have to a legit all pro since Jimbo in the 80's. you don't even question taking him. Now there is 0% chance he's there at 9, the top LT isn't dropping to 9, just like the top edge/dl isn't going outside the top 10.
But IF he falls to you, you take him and finally remove the curse of the jag LT's you've had for 30 years, enough w/the Leno/Webb good enough at a prime position.

I think we could easily see all three of the top QB prospects and all three of the top WR prospects going in the first 6 - 8 picks. Assuming that happens, some really tasty picks could happen at #9. Alt, Bowers, Fashanu, Latu, Verse, etc.
I can see Poles trading down from #9 as well to go after JPJ. As long as he gets a 2024 day 2 pick for it, I'd be very happy as there a lot of guys who will be in the 2nd round who would be first rounders in another year, especially at WR.

if that were to happen you possibly have the top CB, LT or pass rusher at 9, lot of reason for teams to want to trade up if you are wanting more capital; and this is a draft very much top heavy, so if you could get a 2nd and/or 3rd by trading back you could still get some good players.

This scenario is very likey. Not a lock, but I definitely could see it happening.
