The first 3 all can draft one. Maybe the NYG are a shot.
Denver has nothing to trade us. Best we could get was a 3rd and that may be where this ends up. They don't have a 2nd to trade.
I'm wondering if we might have to settle for future draft picks.
Things have gone from bad to worse for Fields in the last 48 hrs.
Mac Jones, Sam Darnold, Drew Lock, Gardner Minshew, and Jacoby Brissett have all found landing spots. Its crystal clear now what the rest of the league thinks of Fields. No one is handing him a starting job. They see him as a backup only.
Mac Jones got traded for a 6th. He is from Fields draft class taken just a few picks later. He also has better career passing stats than Fields does and played on just as bad a team with just as bad a supporting cast the last few years.
Its been a major wake-up call reality check. We are gonna be lucky to get a 4th for him and may have to settle for even less.

There is no market for him.
It will be interesting to watch what actually does happen. But I wouldn't give him away for nothing. Every expert I've listened to in the last day or so has stated there will be a market for him (to some extent) at some point. Yes, that's less than ideal (and they all said that) but the ROI would be better if the Bears don't panic right now and give him away for nothing.

JABF, we are gonna get next to nothing for him. Prepare yourself. Maybe a 4th at best? As I said, Mac Jones is a comp and "sold for a 6th". Same year, same contract status, just less athletic.
Dunno what you are talking about here cuz there's nothing to "be patient" for. There's only 31 teams and probably 29 of them are completely out of the vet QB market by now. Unless there's a slew of major injuries to starting QBs, Fields is now worth only a Day 3 pick. No one is giving you more than that for a one-year backup rental.

Yeah, I'm just saying that's what the "experts" and "talking heads" were saying yesterday on the podcasts etc. But admittedly they probably don't know anything more than us fans do at this point. Still, I'm hoping we can get something decent for him... don't care if it's for a backup role if we can at least get something decent (a 3rd round pick would be nice at this point... or trade for a player we could use on our 2024 roster).
It is interesting to read that there are rumors that Vegas is sniffing around Fields. WTF is that about?
Getsy knows better than anyone the pass protection sucked & they had 1 good WR. He's seen the flashes and knows sky's the limit for JF1 with a decent offense around him.

They had one top-10 WR and one top-10 TE and an average OL. That's more than a lotta young QBs get. Its certainly more than Mac Jones got.
And again, if any team truly believed "the sky was the limit for JF1" as you said, they would be blowing up Poles phone offering high picks to get him.
