If he is not worth keeping, does it really matter where he goes? If he sucks so bad and is the fourth best QB in the conference, wouldn't it be great to go to another division team? We can't have it both ways
I want to trade Fields to an AFC team in case motm, Ric, and MP are WRONG about him. There are moments when I’d like to see how Fields would play with the Falcons, if they draft Odunze to go with Pitts and London.
UPDATE:
Baker Mayfield staying in Tampa Russell Wilson is signing in Pitt Atlanta is pursuing Cousins
If Cousins does end up going there, we are screwed on getting much value from Fields. It doesn't help that Mac Jones, a guy from JF's class drafted just a few picks after him, was just traded to be a backup and for only a 6th.
Only teams left where he would be the clear starter are Vegas and Denver. Vegas has Getsy so probably not a good fit and Denver has no draft picks to trade and has Sean Peyton as HC. Can't see Fields running that offense.
Only fits I see left are NYG and Tennessee where Fields would be in competition with Daniel Jones and Levis. He would have to win the starting job in camp or he's a backup.
It doesn't look like we will have much of a choice on where to trade him and we aren't gonna get much for him. His stock took a very big hit in 2023. No team is running to the phone wanting him as their starter.

Reality check time...
My prediction is that Cousins stays with Vikings, as Falcons may not want him coming off major injury at his age and high salary. Fields is opposite on all three. Nevertheless, I still think Cousins was their preference, and they may be (delusionally) in the “win now” mode. If they do take Fields and Odunze ahead of Bears at #8, we may see what’s Fields true ceiling.

Mid-level starter
That's his ceiling. Not good enough to pay $250m to.

Your opinion. Any scientist does the experiment without assuming the result.

This isn't a science experiment. There's no way to do a proper prospective, double-blinded, controlled study.
If/when he goes somewhere else, multiple factors will be different and players are capable of playing at different levels every year. You will never be able to CONTROL only one factor.
Regardless, I stand by my projection of him having no more than mid-tier starter for a ceiling. There's zero evidence to suggest he could ever be a consistent top-tier QB. That's just a hope and prayer.
And no other team sees that ceiling either or they would be blowing up Poles phone trying to get him.
