I have been seeing rumors on social media that Maye and Daniels will follow suit.
I think the NFL needs to set requirements for "official" draft measurements, physicals, etc. And make it a requirement for participating in the draft. If you are invited to the combine and want to participate in the draft, you have to show up and participate in any/all drills where you are medically cleared to participate. Otherwise, you need to sit out the draft (and the next season) and hope to get in next year.
IMO, having people participate in standardized drills, exercises, measurements, physicals, etc isn't a big deal. I've had to take physicals, participate in drug tests and even psychological testing as part of the job interview process or after the interviews as a condition being hired. As a former LEO, I 'm sure that you have as well. I never thought twice about it.
The process of breaking down tape and accurately evaluating players is what separated the real pros from the wannabes. If you look at the 2017 draft and simply compare passing and QB dependent offensive stats on all the QBs in that draft class, Mahomes doesn't really jump out as being truly superior to everyone else. But it looks like the KC scouting department and their player evaluation staff really saw something that a lot of other teams did not.
